I mean I don’t like the contract but at least he is a decent player and not old. Benning isn’t learning but maybe a little bit. Moral victories

My prediction is,

he will fit Petey and Hughes in under the 17 mill remaining.
Will lock up Hamonic and Tryamkin to cheap 1 year deals
one of Juolevi/Chatfield will play bottom 6
He will also try and re-sign Vesey/Boyd/Hawryluk to cheap deals.

I can honestly see him making some bad moves just to get under the cap that will come back to bite the team the following year. Or he'll base his offseason around the assumption Seattle will take Myers after he exposes him, then be left scrambling when they take a prospect.

The handcuffing with the players above is the same reason it's dumbfounding he signed Pearson. It's the same idea.

It is funny that some people thought 3x3 was a good deal for TP and he got 250k over that and they are now freaking out about that 250k over.
Would have preferred to trade him and get assets, but 3.25 for an effected 3rd line guy who can give 2nd line production playing a full season there is not a bad deal. This makes it easier to do what other teams do and have 3 lines that play most of each game, with the lines playing better getting more during that game and a 4th line that plays an energy role. Just like Vegas does. that 4th line has some games where their 4th line plays less then 5 mins each. And they are dominant.

I think they'll buy out Loui at the very least (saves actual $$ and 2 mil next year) if he doesn't "retire".

Read mixed things about Beags. Hopefully he moves into a role with the coaching staff. But, can't be certain about that yet.
