That's cool, we could use his grit and he can add a little offense in the process.

i would for sure take greenway over a 2nd round pick

guaranteed NHLer, sure maybe lower ceiling than a 2nd round pick but he won't be a total miss

Dark horse maybe taylor hall

Any interest in

Jordan greenway
Huge
salary for rest of year almost fits hall
Seems like a guy who hasn't figured it out yet

Guerin said he's not looking to add a player who will bolt in a few months. Also said things are slow, crickets.

By the TDL, Hall's cap will be around 2.2M. Holding 50% means teams will only need 1.1 in space. There's not too many teams with that kind of space, but if we're willing to eat a bad player in return, and use additional LTIR, I think we could get something decent-good for him.

Bruins and Panthers can accommodate that and both have all their picks.

Give me a 2nd and Dan Vlidar from the Bruins. I'm set

Darth Vladar.

Is he capable of backing up Ullmark next year?

Seems like it. 23 years old. This year he's played in the NHL, AHL and currently he's putting up ridiculous numbers in the Czech league.

Swayman seems like a better prospect for them so I'm shooting a bit lower.

Maybe a 1st & Kassian for Hall ?

But if a Hall extension is part of the deal, then i think we’d need more- especially since Kassian at over $3mil cap it is essentially a cap dump

any way this team makes the playoffs next year?
would be nice not to set the record with 11 misses in a row..

I'm sure there's a certain segment of the fan base that would be interested in a 30 year old Kassian for 3 more years at $3.2m per

I... am not of that mindset

Well according to that article:
we’d have to take Kassian, Neal, or that crappy goalie- Kassian has the smallest Cap hit

Who would u rather take back here?

Archibald or Khaira. Theyre cheaper and over sooner.

If that doesn't work, look elsewhere. I'd prioritize not having long-term cap dumps on the roster over getting a 1st round pick. If one team is offering a 2nd or 3rd with a good prospect, I'd take that over a 1st and a dump. Cap is currency. Now moreso than ever

But I'm operating as if this isn't a meltdown rebuild

So then you’re not really interested in the deal with EDM then
Bc that’s not enough Cap for them to fit Hall

I do get your point, but only if we keep Eichel
Otherwise I’m totally fine taking on Cap to get extra 1sts in the ‘22 & ‘23 drafts

None.
No Cap dumps.
They can move Kassian, Neal to one of Red Wings, NJ Devils, Ottawa Sens, LA Kings, Panthers...
Then come back once that is done.

It looks like they're using LTIR now so maybe there's more room there, and with Hall's deadline cap hit with half retained at $1.1, maybe it works. I'm not fluent in cap. Lunaion would have to translate that

It only matters if we keep Eichel
If he’s traded, that’s -10m
Hall gone is -8m
And of we’re trading them, others would likely be moved too- bc it’s another rebuild
We’d likely end up with around $30mil or so in Cap Space

So we should ABSOLUTELY use that space to get extra 1st round picks in ‘22 & ‘23- both supposed to be really good drafts

Those 1st round picks would help our rebuild MUCH more than Cap space for a few years when we are gonna stink anyways

I think Mitts can be our Derek Roy of 05-07 except Mitts won't be able to get the girls Roy could get.

I do not want any crap cap in the 2021-22 season for moving hall

take a second instead of the first if that is the situation
