If they lose barkov they probably won’t have a team for long

Have to wonder the difference between the Lightning and the Panthers. Is it just that Tampa is good and bringing in fans, or are they doing something different? Better ownership? Hard to blame location when the other Florida team is flourishing, or will the interest dry up when they go through their next rebuild?

They’re pretty much a Miami team and Miami has almost no static fan base. A larger than average portion of the fans at Miami sports games are tourists. Then when you factor in that it’s hockey, they’ve been irrelevant for most of their existence, and they are actually just outside of Miami it gets worse

Wait, really? I was just looking it over and thought the islanders sent a first and a bag of pucks to NJ for two quality players.

I admit, I know nothing about the players sent to NJ

I just don’t think Kyle palmieri is anything special and they gave up a 1st for him. Zajac is nothing

That makes sense, never realized Miami had that kind of sports market. Thanks.

Isles going for it. How sweet will it be for them to fall short while their window begins to close, they get old without first round draft picks and no organizational depth and have to start over.

I looked at it and feel the Devils got FLEECED. With that said I was listening to Friedman last night and he said that teams are viewing 1st round picks like GOLD this year bc of the flat cap. Said teams are very reluctant to trade 1sts this year more so than previous years.

This is such a unique season in so many ways, I think the trade deadline will feature several seemingly unbalanced trades.

The Devils are still clearly rebuilding and apparently their top priority was to obtain a first round pick. Well, they got it ...

I don't get the Devils holding salary with their cap room unless that"s what Uncle Lou (who clearly still runs the Devils) demanded, to get the first rounder. Unless at least one of those prospects is a player the Devils were after, they got screwed. There should have been a roster player coming back.

They got back 2 career AHLers. I don’t see this as a win for the Devils

The most exciting trade on deadline day is going to be Marc staal to the flyers. It’s going to be so boring this year
