Lost of very good players had growing pains. But lots of projected very good players had growing pains that turned out to be permanent pains and they never fulfilled projections too. Joni Pitkanen, Coburn and Luke Schenn come to mind from Flyers alone.

Before you jump on the last statement as you have been doing, please note a nuance. That statement is NOT saying average quality 1cs have never been part of a championship club. The emphasis is on lead, not the position.

Indeed, if Point switched to 2C and Cirelli slipped to 3C, and Couts replaced Point as 1C, they would still be a strong contender, and this does not contradict anything I said.

How about the litter of Dmen who have been traded early and have proved the traders correct?

Luke Schenn was a highly ranked prospect, who at one time Toronto was extremely keen on, to the extent he was untouchable early on.

In summary, all I am saying is that you are far too one-sided with your projection of Myers. The jury is out, and there are good reasons why it is out.

Phil Myers isn't just a highly ranked prospect. There's underlying evidence that he's gonna be good. How good? Who knows. You know I'm a big believer.

There is one thing I would like to say.

MJL and I have had our differences. He can be difficult at times.

He is also one of the guys who has argued hockey every day for almost as long as the board has been around. I also strongly believe that he is a decent dude. Many times he says things that do make sense.

The Internet is full of difficult people. If someone bothers you so much, just avoid him. Its not that hard.

Setting up a harebrained scheme to embarrass/mock someone is something teenagers do at their worst.

Why would we be looking to add Marc Staal? LHD with $5 plus mil hit. Is he a long term answer? Why would we want him as a rental?

I believe that we will need to make deals at deadline to accumulate draft picks. Guys like Raffl, Laughton, Braun might get moved. Big deals won;t happen until the summer. That's when we can realistically address d hole and shedding some of our bloated contracts and possibly package some young guys.

It will be difficult to see some guys shipped out but change is needed. Can't imagine Therien is back. Maybe Yeo. But AV and Fletch aren't going anywhere.
