Sean, I agree 100% with you about the Flames, the ship has sailed with Monohan and Gaudreau. Monohan might as well be a figure skater.

We will have to wait and see, but I feel the Leafs may just run into their perennial issue of failing at playoff hockey. Offence hasn't won championships since the 80's. If they run into a hot goalie, they could be out in the first round. If I had to pick the team coming out of the north. It's likely the Jets.

But, what do I know, I'm just a Canuck fan who is still hoping my team can claw their way in.

Wow! 6 of Leafs final 19 games will be against the Habs. Talk about fun! Should be good.
So the TSN & SN experts (plus the bloggers here) have been saying from day#1 that the Habs have the best D or are the most balanced team in the North. At the start of the season I saw no reason to disagree. But with 65% of the season played, Leafs have a lower GAA, better PK%, and take fewer penalties. SOG are identical for the two teams. So why are we still saying that the Habs are the most balanced or have the best D? Is it just because they have bigger names on D and in goal?

Canucks being a lottery team means they could get another high draft pick.

They've hit on players for the last several drafts you could say... 3 Calder nominees in a row and a 4 th rookie this year who has consistently been one of the better Canucks. Young goalchie and Russian prospect coming over for next season. Canucks future looks pretty good. This season will hopefully yield another legit top 6 guy in the draft.

He is more likely to visit yours, or yours visit him, whatever they have worked out.

Or is it like what the senators have done to your team this year.

Andersson will pull his final two weeks of the season at .866% and will suck in the PO's as normal. Leafs backup has work to do. WPG has a better top 6 and goaltending and are way better built for the PO's. Leafs will be in trouble whoever they draw EDM, MTL or WPG.

Even with the current situation we'll probably still pick outside the top 10 which could suck at this point, as the club will probably get shut down for the year from a case of the bad flu.

You honestly see them going back to Anderson? He's lost his job. He will not be back next year so they have no loyalty to show him. The Leafs are by far the best team in the North so I don't see where the trouble with no matter who they play comes from but whatever 🤷. Winnipeg has a better top 6🤭Better at what? The Leafs know how to play the Oilers. Shut down the only 2 players they have that can perform at the NHL level and you shut down the Oilers. Eazy Peezy🥱. The Only thing that concerns me about the Habs is if Price somehow becomes the Price of the Past, highly unlikely. So I say to you Mr Leaf Hater. Suck on Deez Nuts😝

Hey I get it. Leafs are the class of the North, but their past playoff history isn’t anything to get too excited over. At least they won’t be giving Boston their annual first round bye. Would love to see a Canadian team in the finals, maybe this is the year.

I don't think Freddy gets his net back. But yeah, I think the Jets are a tough matchup for anyone in the division. Especially if Hellebuyck gets on a roll.

You realize that the Leafs have the best Goals Against in the Division as well as the most goals for. The nice thing about playing in a “weak” division is that you get to play against some sorry ass teams in the playoffs. Listening to the whining from fans of teams who couldn’t even make the playoffs in this division is just icing on the cake.

What a short memory you have. Toronto is built fantastically for the regular season, but they haven't won a playoff series since 2004. What makes them so much better this year? This team can collapse with the best of them.

The regular excuses will still fit this year. Ran into a hot goalie. Ref's stopped giving powerplays. Own goalie wasn't good enough. Not enough grit (though this may actually be the one thing they have added). Like I said we will see.
