I think its a little bit of everything. The defense is better, coaching has had more time to work with the team, and they also dont have to play Boston/Tampa.

Definitely no Barrie/Ceci is a huge upgrade.

These graphs need a bit more clarity. I see total minutes for each situation... but is that for the entirety of the season? Is it for the same number of games into a season?

Despite the lack of clarity, I like "Up by 1 goal" xGA%.

I honestly think if they can get through the first round they can make some noise and beat any team. I feel like its a mental hurdle at this point.

Keefe’s explanation was the defensive buy-in. He used term of players on right side of puck; forwards fighting for puck from our side, defence and forwards more coordinated when there are pinches. Teams has given up some offensive opportunities to focus on D knowing they have offensive skills anyway. We’ve seen fewer 2 in 1s this year, more on PP tam 5on5.

I attribute that to coaching and commitment

I forget about Bogosian...he has been a really nice surprise for me...I didnt expect much. But I dont think about him much, and thats probably good. you just want him to do his job quietly and throw a few hits here and there and push some people when needed.

I think a combo of:
1. Better D - Bogo and Brodie are solid. Holl has taken another step and Muzzin is healthy; and
2. Coaching - he's coached/convinced the centres (Matthews and Tavares) to play very good in their own zone.

C'mon man ...one poster said that kind of stuff and he's apparently on a long vacation. No need to revisit.

If Freddy has a bad injury he's done and KD will fill the gap. If he's expected to be back then we should probably all be on the same page ....b/c there's not much out there so we need him to get healthy and play well.

Either way KD's most important job this summer (after he completes the parade route) will be to shore up the 'tending.
