Good job Michael. Enjoy these blogs more than any mainstream media garbage or anything the numbskulls on nhl radio have to say. Those boneheads don't even talk about the Sens young guns at all....

Sutter has unfinished business in Calgary. That aged well.

It's nice to see Gustavsson put up these numbers but I rather see him do it in the AHL this year

Formenton has an NHL game. He has speed, he appears to be physically strong and he hacks and whacks along the boards. Not sure he will ever be a big time scorer. But he will give you honest third line minutes and will be able to play tough against other teams top units.

he'll be a perfect 3rd line player. i would LOVE a 3rd line of

formenton - paul - c. brown

that would be such a great shutdown line that you could match against other team's top lines.

Sure looks like the Sabres will have last overall locked up.

If Ottawa was in that Division, how would their record look?

Yes, Paul was solid again last night.

Apparently he is one of the players teams have been calling about.

I think it would be a huge mistake to move him. He is a right age and fit for the Sens over the next few year.

Gord Miller said on the broadcast that lots of GMs were calling about Paul and C. Brown, and were told that Ottawa won't consider moving them.

Important that the Sens not finish last overall. Confidence for the organization to know that they are making serious strides for improvement while allowing the kids to play top minutes.

Funny how quickly things change. Sens fans are really pumped about their young team.

Hold unto both of them. If you have to give one up in a trade or to Seattle I would rather the Sens are able to keep Paul.

We would get eaten alive in that division- north is by far the weakest. Can you imagine facing the Pens, Caps, Rags, and Flyers regularly?

you realize that the Rags and Flyers are actually pretty bad this year. they're both under .500, and that's with each team having like 4-5 wins against the sabres.

i'm not suggesting that ottawa would be anywhere but 2nd last (they're clearly better than Buf) but it's not like that's a division of unbeatable teams

Sadly we'll probably see Gudbrandson back in the line up tonight.
And we'll probably also see a rested pissed off Leafs team.

Throw in the that new goalie for the impending slaughter.

I've heard talk of offering something to Calgary for the other Tkachuk brother.
It always involves this or that prospect and a second round. Ya. That's not getting it done. Offer our first round this year. It's a weak draft. Offer them the pick not much else. I'd kick the tires on Monahan too.

Looking at the standings, this is roughly where I figured they'd be at the end of the season. One more high pick would certainly help.

I also want that San Jose second to stay as high as possible.

Yeah, maybe, but I think Buffalo would at least be a little better in the North Division and not on a 15 game losing streak

I'm curious to see how Gus plays against a good E&W game in the OZone if the Leafs bring it tonight. He's faced mostly N&S plays in the OZone against Flames.

To be fair, Wolanin looks off and indecisive. He had a couple of unforced errors that were brutal. I would prefer Coburn going in- at least he can PK. Brown was garbage all over the ice last night- I don't know what he brings. He couldn't make a pass in his own zone

I think Wolanin's problem is that when he makes mistakes, they're egregious and visible. When he's not making those mistakes, though, he's largely fine. But the coaches see and remember the big mistakes, so he ends up spending inordinate minutes on the bench.

Then there's players like Nikita Zaitsev, who historically look fine but hurt you with a thousand paper cuts.

Then there's players like Erik Gudbranson who give you the worst of both worlds.

that's okay, our offense will equally expose your weak D and terrible goaltending.
