Don't blame Jankowski, His career thus far Is a large enough sample size that would tell anyone with a brain that he Isn't worth signing but yet some old retread GM with more ear hair than a werewolf went and signed him anyway. DUH!

Jankowski was the epitome of a Rutherford signing to be honest.

Former 1st round pick - check
Advanced stats (goals) are super promising (scored 14 goals and 17 goals)
6' 4" (big) - dont bother checking how he uses his size, just trust me he's got good size

Wasn't upset about the move at all at the time (since he's making league minimum). But there really is a risk -- the risk that he must play every game and never, ever for any reason come out of the lineup.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. What could it hurt to give the big guy a chance ... especially against the lowly Sabres? He can't be any worse than Jankowski, right?

Jank is just one of these classic stubborn Sully decisions. Guy f'n chews and gets a sweater every game ala JJ.

This Zoho kid is a f'n beast physically hahaha....and almost ppg in AHL..hopefully he gets a shot.

Jankowsky has been a big flop. BUT he isn’t out there losing us games. He’s not bad defensively but has no offense and isn’t physical. I wouldn’t mind seeing him on the wing as a depth player.

We definitely need better centermen to push Jan out of the lineup. Bring on the Horna!

That's pretty key here. Not that it always translates into NHL success, but it's definitely a good indicator.

Back to Kahun....Wouldnt he have been better and cheaper than like 90% of the bottom 6? Maybe he's a locker cancer IDK...Just seems odd. The games I watch these days are really blah and boring. I turned a lot off half way through this year.

Also crazy they are having trouble selling the 2,500 tickets they do have.

Most people here liked Kahun and were puzzled by him getting moved for Sheary and ERod, but it's clear there's some personal issue with this player if he's cheap and productive, yet teams keep moving him.

He's been a healthy scratch a lot of nights lately and only has 9 points 26 games getting looks with McDavid and Draisaitl.

I didn't mind taking a chance on him at league minimum either. I didn't like that he and ERod were handed 3rd line spots. They should have had better options in front of them, and then when there were injuries, give them a look. Now we have both in the top 9 when they aren't even good 4th liners.

Nobody is going to argue with you about Kahun.

They're not one of the most talented teams in the league anymore, particularly with all the forwards out, so they've started to play a more trappy, low event style of hockey to remain competitive. Agree, not as exciting, but they aren't going to win much trading chances right now.

Wasn't it Kahun who made comments after his trade that he didn't like how Sullivan was making him aggressively back check and play defensively?

Gettin Kahun for Maatta defintely seemed like one of GMJRs best moves at the time.

"When I got traded [Monday], first of all, it was a shock, for sure. I didn’t really see it coming,” the soft-spoken Kahun said Tuesday on a conference call organized by the Sabres. “But I’m really, really happy to play for Buffalo now.”

It was a very good move. I thought Kahun was good for the Pens after he settled in, but obviously there is some kind of stink on this guy.

I have to admit, when I started to read the article I figured Zohorna was replacing Jankowski. You fooled me Mr. Wilson, the line rushes say Jankowski is sandwiched between Lafferty and Rodrigues. The Zohan is the extra.

I can't wait to see the ERod-MJan-SLaff line get to work.

I found it https://www.buffalohockey...n-newcomer-dominik-kahun/

After struggling to adjust in Pittsburgh, Kahun acclimated to the Sabres right away.

“Hockey’s always fun for me, but obviously with the different tactics and all the different systems, the system in Pittsburgh … I had to do other stuff,” he said. “So here the hockey’s more fun for me again.”

To me it sounds like he just didn't like backchecking as much as he liked being a freewheeling offensive player

Anyone else see the Flames try to keep Gustavson's first win puck? Then when confronted, shoot the puck down the ice... What a (Richard) move...
