Driedger hasn't played for a while, maybe he'll be hungry today. I just hope he isn't rusty.

The whole team looked lethargic for long stretches in the last game. Poor passing - either 3 feet too far in front of target, right into the skates, or straight to a Predator. Maybe they were reading about being #1 in ESPN power rankings and it went to their heads.

I hope Q got their attention and pointed them back the right way.

Go Panthers!

How about some traffic out front today? Cats out a lot on last game, but Saros saw the majority of them because there was no one out front.

Oh man the powerplay is letting us down hard. 3 already and nothing to show. Its saros for goodness sakes. And the worst penalty kill in the league

Totally agree with Randy - gotta just shoot on that shorthand breakaway. Trying to do way too much there.

Once they get into the zone, PP has good puck movement but no player movement. That allows defenders to get into and hold the passing lanes, blocking passes and shots. Also makes it very predictable where the shots will come from. It seems Panthers taking too many PP shots from outside, get blocked (can't get to Hornqvist) and then cleared from the zone. Preds only have to do that a few times each PP because Yandle is so lackadaisical about retrieving and bringing the puck back up the ice. I notice Forsling is much quicker to the puck, fires it to an open forward, and doesn't do that moronic slow drop pass.

At least it was a good win by the Panthers and Driedger looked solid. No major defensive breakdowns today.

Panthers ran up a lot of SOG, but a least 40% of them suffered from Bjugstaditis--that is, shots hitting the goalie in the chest logo.

Yeah, those look cool. Love the old style look of the blocker, especially.
Dreegs came up huge when needed today. Saros stood on his head for second game in a row, but some of the shots just seemed drilled right into his chest protector.

Yes verhags for sure had at least 2 grade A chances and squared saros in the logo. Totally agree about yands. He kills so much time on the powerplay. Its maddening AF
