The Canucks weren't really rocking it defensively last year for him, and the Flames aren't really rocking it any worse than they have for the past decade. You can't blame the goalie year after year, then switch to blaming the defence when nothing's changed.

He's been great against the Habs and Canucks, and below-average against everyone else. Seeing if he'd bounce back tonight was fine, even though Rittich stole three points in the previous two games against the Leafs. The problem was Rittich should have gotten the start Wednesday. If you're spending 2.75 million on a backup, he should be playing more than once every three weeks, especially considering he was decent when given a chance to play.
