The Gauthier penalties weren’t lazy hooks/holds...he’s battling for the puck and poop happens. One of them it rode up the stick of the Flyers guy. I get it why he’s scratched, but there are at least 5 players then he’s better then right now. It’s just dumb. This kid just came off a goal that McDavid and only a handful of others can pull off, and now he’ll lose his confidence because he took a few penalties. Who, btw, is one of the only players who actually drives to the net

Im really curious to see how this coaching style affects the play of the team. I wonder if Quinn and assistants are gonna be on live cam feeds.

As said, I would have kept him in the lineup.

People would say stick infractions are lazy. 3 stick infractions are careless. Honestly, you cant just be swinging your stick around wrecklessly then use the excuse that youre trying to battle and play defense.

It’s not like it’s been a habit tho. He’s had 3 minors in 20 games

I dont justify his previous benchings. I think if he played with some regularity, and he got benched after that game we would say yea kinda careless game with all the penalties. Personally, Id like to see him on PP1 instead of Strome.

Anyone else see that Kreider story on NBCSN just now?

He talked about back in 2012 when he first came to the Rangers for his first playoff game he saw his Jersey hanging in his locker and was in awe of it. Then Brandon Prust walks up to him and says you don’t stare at it, put it on lol. Such a Prust comment hahah

It has to be so hard as 19-20 yr old, to play in the NHL, as an offensive player when you see what 45 seconds? of PP time a game. It’s maddening how these kids are getting so little pp time. I mean your #1 unit is 26th in the league, it’s not (frank)ing working you morons!! now people think they’re busts and they have no confidence. Cool

Looks like a lot of defensive follies to start the 2nd. Puck responsibility.

It is amazing how his presence alone just changes the dynamic of the games. Especially when he gets on the puck. For a man with a short stick (enter giggle) he poke checks the puck like no other.
