I would probably sign Larsson as a UFA, then not have to worry about taking an exposed Oiler.

I would extend Khaira and protect him over Benson. Sorry. Benson looks like he won't make it.

Ideally I give up a 1st to be rid of Neal. This is a weak draft. Let Neal go and use the cap space to upgrade elsewhere. But that's not Holland's style. He was one of the few GMs who didn't even bother cutting a side deal with Vegas. Here's my list. Take whoever you want. He's not going to be a difference-maker.

Imagine if more GMs said that in the Vegas draft? Have lessons been learned? We shall see.

Benson is only 22 years old. Currently has 4 goals and 12 points in 9 AHL games this season. I think it's far too early to suggest he won't make it.

First off I gotta say that you sir are a far better writer than the guy they got "blogging" for the Oilers. It's refreshing. Keep up the good work.
Not sure the Oilers should protect Klefbom unless they are obligated to. That guy is a band-aid and made of glass as most of the Oilers are. They should just move on from him.

Oilers blogger here. The biggest question will be the health of Klefbom to start the season. Oscar will be getting a shoulder surgery in the next 10 days. Even if he just a trade chip I think he has more value to the organization than a Lagesson or Jones

Get created and offer up Klefbom with Neal 2M retained. I know your projections have to be the simplest options right now, but have to assume Seattle gets very creative this draft. Dumping bad contracts costs more now than ever before, so you have to assume that Seattle will be looking at this as an option.

Tyler Benson hasn't even played enough games to even need to be protected. Josh Archibald will be protected before Dominik Kahun.

Doesn't Oscar Klefbom slip by due to his injury and missing the whole season? If they don't have to protect him. I would either go with William Lagesson or Tyson Barrie (if he comes back). Lagesson is better than Jones.

Goalie, flip a coin. Nothing special with any of them. I think Koskinen has a Modiffed no trade clause, so they might have to protect him

I would bet Jones will be traded at the trade deadline. I would like to see Buffalo get him for one of our rentals. At the moment I don't think we have any left defenseman on contract for next season. Why not add one more RFA to our list. But even if it's not Buffalo I bet they don't want to watch him go for free. Perhaps I'm overvaluing him 4 I don't watch enough Edmonton games
