That powerplay one was bad at the end of the 2nd. He was all alone in front, no one within 15 feet of him. Swing and a break your stick and miss the net badly

it's so (frank)in bad

and going back to the last blog about Pionk, if Pionk was passing to him he wouldn't be missing the net and breaking sticks?

I really think Pionk would have the same stats as Fox if he were here, maybe even less assists

Yea most likely

It's more just annoying seeing that damn 8 million a year cap hit stuck on Trouba that sucks about it

Especially if the cap is staying flat for another 4 years

Why does Quinn change lines every 10 minutes but keeps a top 5 worst pp in the league together for 10 plus games?

the biggest problem about it for me is that we know we have two RHD coming that we used first round picks on in Lundkvist and Schneider

Trouba's a problem but I still feel like every single problem on this team would be better if Zibinajed was himself.

I'd even take 2017-18 Zibianjed at this point.

Zib must be so happy he has another year on his deal. I honestly would have no clue what the Rangers would do if he was a UFA after this season

I actually stopped watching the game in the 2nd period for the 1st time this season.
Jan captured it in his article. The whole time I watched the players were listless on the ice. Absolutely unacceptable. Other games they were making mistake after mistake, but you had several players continuing to try. In last nights game, NO ONE really tried or stepped up to be a leader on the ice. It was probably the ugliest I've seen the Rangers play this season.

In all seriousness, it's a players and coaching issue. I would not speculate which is the chicken or the egg here. We all can make strong arguments for both, but in reality it's speculative at best. Bottom line, last night's game was very regressive and felt like progress stalled out completely, which is a sign that something may be wrong here.

It would just be so risky cause the Rangers would have no center depth at all

Scrambling to find a working combination? Panicking and rushing to change instead of patience in chemistry building?
We may be finding that Quinn may not be a big league coach and what worked at the college level, does not translate to the big league style of play.

I think Quinn is an ok coach. But I really think Panarin and Zib playing on a out of this world tear last year made him look a lot better than he is.

Based on the bi-polar season this team has had, it is quite possible they come out flying and working hard for a couple periods. It is not like they "can't" play hard, it's a matter of being prepared to do so each game for 60 mins that they don't do. Which creates a roller coaster of emotions and let downs for the players, to which they respond by internally imploding, and the fans.

big picture though, we really didnt have a chance of finishing in top 4 of this division

a few wins vs the Devils and Sabres gave us some life, but the reality is that they aren't in the same league with the contenders in this division

The whole Seattle expansion draft will stop teams from just purging their rosters

Yea it sucks being in hockey purgatory

Not good enough to make the playoffs, but not bad enough to get a top 5 pick

Absolutely. I never seriously believed the Rangers were a playoff contender. I am just really disappointed in the lack of effort in some of these games. Especially last night.
There is a difference in being an average team that is developing and makes a lot of mistakes and a team that is unmotivated/listless. I was hoping for the former on a more consistent basis. The lack of passion, unmotivated behaviors creates a lot of bad habits for a young, developing player.

5 Wins / 9 Loses / 3 OTL - 13 Points out of 34

Against everyone in the division except Devils and Buffalo
