First i will say that i have no inside information, have nothing to gain by this question, and am not usually into conspiracies but wanted to put it out there:

Is it possible that this whole thing with the breadman is because he has made statements of support for a putin rival and some folks who are loyal to putin dont want panarin representing russia in the olympics? Is this just one of those "we are going to try to ruin your reputation to put you in your place" kind of thing? I still dont know why he even stepped away really.

Great question I'mjust a fan!!!! Panarin simply made statements about supporting a Putin rival and then I'm sure Putin's thugs started harassing Panarin relatives In Russia In fact the Putin mobsters started a rumor after Panarins anti Putins statements saying that Panarin beat up a young girl some years ago. The story Is purely fabricated. Gary Bettman needs to get out In front of this because Ovechkin Is a very good friend of Putins. DeAngelo Is still being held hostage by the Rangers and that's Interesting to me because other teams In the NHL have Interest In DeAngelo. I do not support D'angelo's recent actions.

"Is it possible?" Welcome to the party!

His family and friends still live in Mother Russia. Probably wanted to make sure no further retribution was coming.

Please God no.....No More Gary Thorne. Couldnt stand him back in the 90's to 2000's and would hate it just as much now. There are other good--better--announcers than Thorne, why does everyone want to go back to him?

The underlying allegation was that he committed a violent act against a woman. Probably once there were assurances that no credible evidence existed, NYR and the NHL were comfortable with him playing.

NYR and NHL had nothing to do w/ his absence. Both supported him fully from the get go, and the decision was completely his

The whole situation with Panarin is odd. He takes a leave of absence two weeks ago, nothing has been said or revealed since and now he is back but yet no kind of announcement is made. Its obvious the charges were bogus and he took time most likely to protect his family, but how was this resolved in 2 weeks? Crazy

There is a time period suggested for how to handle this situation?

Nice one.

He's not wrong though. The whole situation was odd. I realize that there must have been machinations going on that we know nothing about. But, I really expected there to be word of him actively trying to get family out of Russia, or responding to the allegations in a structured, formal way of some kind. Or, I don't know, something in the public eye to some degree.

Just glad to have him back and hope his family are ok.

I don't hate your combinations. But, I expect the TOI won't follow what you've laid out.
Frustrations or no, Laf/Zib/Buch will be top line. I like the idea of letting Bread get back up to game speed on the 3rd line because that could be a VERY productive trio. But, Gaut is not jumping up 6-7 minutes over night. IMO, of course!

as far as DeAngelo goes, I think his biggest problem now to getting traded is that his contract pays him 5.3 million in cash next year, who the heck would want that at this point?

the line combinations are good for now, but, once Kravstov gets here, I think he immediately goes to the 3rd line, Gauthier goes to the 4th

and then you have a whole cast of characters being candidates for the 4th line including Rooney, Howden, Blackwell, Lemieux

Kravstov's team is facing elimination today in the KHL and I certainly hope it happens

That's honestly the only thing that really matters. We have no idea what really happened. He's back and lets move on

Way more importantly, Georgiev doesn't seem to have confidence in Georgiev anymore.

Benoit to the rescue!!! (I hope)

I would argue my confidence in Georgiev is more important than his confidence in himself

I wonder if the Rangers have another mid season run like they had last year to get back into playoff contention. If they do it really has to start now
