Lafreniere should have 10 assists already.
But he looks great.
Can Kreider get 50? |

The laf worries should end after last night. What a pass on the assist to Buch and what a snipe. Zib set up his goal hopefully that gets some notice for that at least
Zibs benching definitely sparked the team and especially Kreider and this is the Kreider we hoped for when he was extended
Penalty kill is amazing and ironically Howden leads the way there. That’s gonna be why he stays in the lineup I bet. Him and Rooney are a great pair
I was thinking to myself last night, once we get everyone back and add Kravtsov they could make a run. But of course Shesty gets hurt so much adversity this year, maybe they can overcome if he’s out awhile too. Georgy carried them for parts last year maybe he’ll do it again |

Just noticed he’s on pace for 51..and 8 assists lol |

Shesty’s injury looked bad, like season ending bad. Let’s hope it’s not and he just tweaked something. |

If anyone needed any further proof that no preseason hurt the kid. The past 10 games, he looks like the guy who drafted 1OV. The floodgates are really going to open now.
Crazy to think that you could lose someone like Panarin and there not be much falloff, but with our LWs, our top 6 is still looking really good. CK is due to cool off soon though, he's going at such an insane pace.

Yea I don’t think we’ll see anymore trolling or articles questioning him. The kid hadn’t played a game in close to a year and jumps up 3 levels of play during a pandemic. You can see the confidence in him and the weight off his shoulders. What a privilege it should be to watch him grow and develop.
And I agree, getting Kakko, Panarin and Trouba back would make this team pretty scary. Awful to see Igor in that kind of pain, but just have to hope it’s something that won’t have any long term implications. |

At least Kinkaid has looked good so far in Hartford. Georgie isn't Shesty and Kinkaid isn't Georgie, but if Shesty is out for any length of time, at least I think we still have 2 viable goalies. Don't get me wrong, the loss would be huge.

Lafreniere didnt play a single hockey game in 10 months
no real training camp, not one single exhibition game, then thrust into real NHL games
and people are comparing his stats in his first 20 games to previous first overall picks who never even remotely dealt with that crap, it's been ridiculous |

I said it awhile ago, but its obvious Kreider defers to Zib. So when Zib struggles Kreider won't step up. Kreider being the best player on the line lets him take the leadership role. Have to keep Zib and Kreider apart until Zib finds his game. |

the reality is we have three top 6 left wingers in Panarin, Kreider and Lafreniere
they have to figure out how this is gonna work when Panarin comes back
Kreider and Lafreniere are thriving without Panarin

I think there was a lot of cases of fans anxious for hockey, anxious for a repeat of last season (before the bubble) and then anxious for seeing a number 1 draft pick. All that led to a high level of need for instant gratification. And when that did not happen, resorted to a high level of criticism and angst. The "house is burning" effect.
Krieds goal production is unsustainable for anyone. But I hope he continues the same level of effort for the rest of the season. His current play is what he ALWAYS needs to do.
I do not care if they make the playoffs. I think this season has had success already in the likes of Miller, Kakko, Blackwell, Laf, Rooney and Hajek to a lesser extent. To me that was the point of this season. Development.

I think you leave Laf with Zib. He seems comfortable. Kreider has to stay with Strome.
Put Panarin with Chytil |

silver lining to a potential long term injury to Shesterkin is that if Georgiev plays well enough, it will increase his trade value going towards next season. |

I disagree. Almost all of the concern with Laf was not seeing any offense, or high end play. I thought it was pretty measured, most peoples responses that is.
I never understood why you cant post concerns about a player without being called a hater, or people twisting that in another way. I mean I guess we could just all wave pom poms all day and never ever say anything negative about a player. Not saying you are saying this, just the overall reaction when something is posted about a player that isn't positive. |

I know I'm in the extreme minority, but I have thought Strome is playing well enough of late that I would be fine with him as the 3c, especially given his obvious connection with Kreider. Those two talk so much on the bench after shifts.
With the development we've seen from Chytil, I would be perfectly fine if they did not make a trade for a center and played the long game by drafting a C. |

Not calling anyone a hater. Never been like that or called someone that for saying anything.
I am just observing that people, including myself were anxious for immediate development and we got really concerned.
There were some that were going off the deep end. Others joking. Including me joking about it all.
I don't call anyone out seriously or call people wrong. I just observe and express just the same as you said. Concerns/thoughts without judgement. |

Have not had a problem with Strome of late, but they still need to draft every center in this draft |
