Roger Mussa: Reverse Retro Jersey - The best part of last night!

I wish they'd release more reverse retro's or allow for a customizable one..

I was disappointed when they made the switch years ago to black/red. Personally I would prefer the red/green color scheme for all games and make the red/black the 3rd jersey.

Unload ZAJAC for anything.
Subban- for a bag of used pucks
Kulikov & Sammy V- Hopefully bring back some talent a picks.
If we are getting greedy, trade Palms and bring him back as a UFA.
Zajac and Subban just have to go. Zajac is too slow and timid for this team. Subban is flat out awful and I can’t wait to watch him go.

He looked better , But needs to play with Talent .. possible exposed in expansion draft or trade. ut he is talented.

What will Vatanen and Kulikov fetch in return at the deadline? Not much ..resign both ...
Should Zajac take a step back in favor of getting youngsters playing time? Will he finish the season a Devil?

Is Subban playing for a deadline trade or new contract? Is he doing a good or bad job at that?

Vatanen, I'm very surprised he has looked this bad. Last year one of our better defenders?? Not sure we are getting more than 3rd.
Kulikov, has been solid maybe package him with someone for a higher pick.
Zajac, if he waves his NT can pick up a 3rd/4th rounder at best. He is very useful for face offs and as defensive center, not much more.
Palmieri, Always been a streaky player but he has just looked a step off. Still think he brings back a high pick. Not a 1st but possibly a 2nd.
Gusev, seems out of place. Maybe lack of training camp/pre-season but right now I don't see much of a trade for him.
PK without retaining 50% salary I don't think anyone wants him. But we can hope!!!
We have looked better than last year and surprisingly better when we have most of the youth playing.

Maybe since he signed so late, he’s out of practice? Or his body is not as conditioned as it needs to be? The team had the benefit of at least 1 week or so of practice to get ready while he did not. Not making excuses, just guessing.

I will say... I agree with all of your comments. Personally.
Even with Palmieri.

I do think Palmieri looks a little "off" and sitting a bit could help. I wish he were Captain.

Gusev has also had some bad luck even when his shots are on goal. I just don't want it to affect his confidence.

I do disagree with Vatanen and Kulikov re-signing (especially if we keep PK), Id rather see younger guys take some turns like Bahl, Walsh,Okhotiuk... instead of re-signing both.
Of the two, today Id re-sign Kulikov.

I was diggin the jersey's, didn't think they'd look good with all that green but they looked much better in game action.

OK, I am being honest. I am a Giants fan, and as bad as that team is, as long as they beat the Cowboys I am happy. Soooo, playing the Rangers back to back, this season will still be a success with wins in the next two and every other time we play them. just saying. Of course I would like the playoffs, but that is not in the cards this season.

It's difficult to say which is the top or bottom line at this point. We really need Nico back and then 5 games for him to get going.

Curious to see how that 2nd line of kids will manage. We already know the Zajac line will be dead and unproductive. Curious with Maltsev-McLeod-Bratt will bring.

I'd rather see Bratt on the LW of Zacha, since they've done well together.. and Bratt and Palms have also done well together. Put Wood with Zajac, keep Johnsson with Hughes, and have Sharangovich sit a game.

I'm not sure what sitting Gusev would do for his confidence. He seems to be getting his shot off more and being in better positions. I don't think him or Bratt should be scratched.

Bummed to miss the game tonight.. might catch the 3rd. Then a 1pm start for a doomed Saturday.

As for Palms, he is not a guy you healthy scratch. Heck he leads our team in hits every season, and is the most consistent and professional guy on this squad. He needs to move to his off-wing on the PP. Having him as the middle F in an established setup doesn't make sense. He needs to be the high guy on the left ready to unload. Gusev/Hughes/Hischier can all fill that role fine, and we need him parked and ready to snipe.

It could be a lingering effect from the injury last year; but I think Vats is what he is at this point. I've been a supporter and was excited when we signed him. I thought with Murray and Kulikov added to the defense Vats would do well playing down in the lineup so to speak. But it's been a mixed bag at best.

I don't think sitting any of the veterans is really beneficial and that goes for Goose and Bratt also. Zajac looked surprising good to me pre-covid and like he's really struggling since. So I think cutting his minutes down would be smart. But these other guys need to stay in to get it going.

Palms has done his best to bring a pulse to a club that was dead in the water the past couple of seasons. I am a huge fan of the guy. Now use him properly on the PP, and keep open to the possibility of trading him as a rental. I'd love to see him extended, but I also would not mind watch him make a playoff run so long as we get an A-prospect, or a potential 1st rd selection.

I have said enough regarding PK. But the only way he is traded this year would see us taking on a terrible contract in return. Even 50% retained, he is not someone who has any value relative to the other guys available for far less commitment.

Palms and Gusev could potentially be 1st rd selections. My concern is that the market has weakened significantly, especially with the time lost due to covid protocols. My guess is one of them gets traded, but we receive a guaranteed 2nd, with a chance of a 1st so long as they meet certain playoff stats/requirement. Good thing we sold for a premium last deadline, because this one will not be nearly as lucrative.

If Vats lands us a 3rd, I am ok with that. Better than nothing, and if you would have told me last season that he'd return for just 2M, I wouldn't have believed you.
