Good evening Bill,

I wanted to ask you, what are your thoughts on Yeo and Therein as assistants? Do you feel they are doing a good job or is this more about the Jimmy's and the Joe's rather than X's and O's?

Nolan Patrick has been a topic lately around here. Will he ever live up to expectations? I’ve gotta say, he has both a lot of good and bad moments but I also think he has a lot working against him.

1. Why is Patrick being used on the right half wall with a right handed shot on the power play, opposite Voracek who is on the left half wall as a left handed shot? We had this never ending argument when Hakstol/Vigneault did the same to Giroux going back about a year ago. It’s not working. Get those one timers going.

2. A lot can be said about Patrick’s lack of production but Giroux has one goal on the season. If one thing Giroux can do well, it’s set up even the most talentless of players...but this isn’t Giroux of 5 or 6 years ago. So some responsibility of not making that line go, might be on the Captain.

If Patrick was playing with elite talent, he’d have no leg to stand on. In this case, I think it’s three players on one line not getting it done.

Patrick is far from being one of the huge concerns on this team.

I'm not advocating Ekholm but they absolutely have to get someone come April if they want to be in the playoffs. Hart and Elliott can't keep up with the way this team is defending.

Just a bump in the road. Clode and Bobby having a closed door meeting as we speak.

yep. Two goals occurred because the Pens had multiple players between the last defender and Hart.

I havent seen the replay, but im not sure why Hart dove N-S to cut the pass instead over moving cross-crease on the PP goal

Depends on cost for Ekholm, but he is a very good d man that would help.

The defensive gaffs aside*, what's most frustrating about this loss is not only their lack of urgency to stick it to the opposition with all the man-advantage chances they had, but their constantly casual/lackadaisical effort at clearing attempts. With the latter, it's a trait that seems to have gone back quite a long time, even before AV came along. And it just incenses me that they never seem to have improved on it in all that time.

I*: 'm not dismissing them, as they anger me as much as everything else, but I'm not going to waste time talking about them because anyone who saw the game knew about them

On any given night any team struggles with these things. The Flyers are not unique. It’s why no one goes 82-0-0.

They lost. It’s hockey. Anyone can beat anyone on any night. The test will be how they respond.

The Flyers seem to struggle more at clearing their zone than other teams. It's not just an "any given night" thing. It's been going on a long time with them.

Ehhhh, I’m not so sure. Watch a team lose, usually that plays a big role.

Not a great game for the Flyers.

Need to pull the trigger on an established, proven D-man.....sooner rather than later.

Is this the time to sell high on Ghost? He's looking more his old self, and I'm loving that, but it sure seems he's out there during goals against. Just wondering if his value is at its highest...

They need to take advantage of the few games they have in hand on most teams in the division. Unless a team hits a rut, looks like it’s going to be a relatively tight 5 team race for a playoff spot. Not overly concerned right now, but I’m not in the “they’ve done so well they are a lock for the playoffs” just yet. That can quickly change if they can step it up a bit here. It’s been a weird week or two with COVID situation and other teams will likely deal with it still. If they can take the next two from Pitt I will feel a lot better.

That could have gone better...

Outside of the Coots line, everyone had room or roomier space for improvement. Tomorrow is a must win, imo.
