JK doesn't trade for Laine if he doesn't think he can re-sign him, period. Torts gets fired before Laine is traded.

No and this brings another interesting rumbling, apparently ownership might of asked management to shed salary, hence the ''giveaway'' of Murray and Nuutivara. It can also explain why they will ride out the rest of the season with Torts given the money involved is rather substantial.

From day one of the trade I doubt Laine has any intention of staying in Colombus. He is basically invisible there with little to no media attention regarding the Jackets. At least with the Jets he was in a Canadian market and therefore more known and watched. He will want the attention.

Breadman got sure got a lot of attention while he was in Columbus, and the reason why Laine has gotten so little is that the team has played awful and the kids who were expected to play well have failed to produce. If this team can somehow become a good team again then he will gets lots of attention and lots of cash from the CBJ.

Torts Is on my top 5 coaches In the league but I can't argue that It's time to go. The Jackets on paper are a shoe In for the playoffs, I believe that JT has definitely lost the room.

I have always liked David Savard he seems to be a very reliable defence man and every team needs reliable defence men

You will find many teams struggle with Laine. He either scores 2 goals in a win, or is a -2 in an effortless loss. His upcoming contract has Skinner-esque potential. Jackets are in a very uncomfortable spot with his valuation.

Ras was an unreal throw-in tho. He is finally being used properly. Kid deserves it.

Torts is going to quit! Haha. The reason he was so hard on Dubois is that he really thought the kid was great. Losing guys like Anderson and Dubois, are replacing them with Domi and Laine will probably be enough for Torts to chase retirement. Especially if Foligno gets traded out.

I hate the fact that Torts' time in Columbus is about done, but once he leaves I fear for the franchise. It may end up being the Quebec Vestes Bleues we pull for.

I just don't understand why a young team with veteran leadership that did so well in the playoffs last year has completely imploded. The team might be weaker up the middle without PLD, but there are plenty of people who have played in the middle before.

The goalie play is mostly bad, the defense is bad (and its not because of the trades last season), and the offense is terrible. That seems to say the coaching is bad, and maybe the front office is bad.

I do not believe that, but I'm running out of reasons why this team is so bad. It is not beyond the realm of possibility the CBJ will be almost in the top 5 in the draft order this year (they are currently 10th), maybe 6th or 7th. If they have a fire sale at the trade deadline we could fight Buffalo, Detroit, and Ottawa for the #1 pick.

As of now there are five points separating the CBJ from San Jose, who have the 5th worst record, and only 2 of the teams below them in the standings do not have games in hand on them. This is a Titanic disaster of a season, and it could get worse in the future.
