Goaltending is the biggest PK issue.

Nah. It's all coaching. If Sully executed better, the Pens wouldn't be in the position they were in yesterday.

Agreed.
Sadly, I suspect nothing happens till the offseason.

One of Kaps known strengths coming over was the PK. I think I read somewhere he lead, or was near top, of PK breakaways the last few season...didn't always burry a goal obviously but if the puck is in the other end and a chance created while on PK thats good stuff for a few reasons.....and Sully is not playing him there.

Realistically it’s probably best to stand pat until the offseason.

This is how I feel for the most part, but I expect the Pens to try and upgrade the 4C position and bring in some mouth breather on defense.

I’ve never paid attention to a game less than I did yesterday. There was just nothing fun about it. Put it on, started putting together a shelving unit we just got, looked up and we were down 0-2 in the second and every shift was seemingly in our zone, so I had no complaints when my wife asked to play Harry Potter Scrabble. That was fun.

If we get someone like let's say Rackell for a decent price Im definitely ok with it because it will help next year as well. I think the one thing me and you agree on is we'd stay away from rentals. They may do jack poop this year but as long as we acquire someone with term I'm ok with it. I feel better about next year than this season though, but it's like you can't completely throw in the towel so may as well try and make a move for now and the next season at minimum.

Oh yea it was definitely one of those "the game is on as background noise" kind of night.

That's how this team has been the entire season. It hasn't been fun at all to watch.

Again. The PK issue is largely on the goalies. And the forwards have little to no blame. Pettersson and Ceci could be a little better but blaming Sully is the lazy narrative imo.

Ive had lots of fun watching all the come from behind wins. I think we're up to 7 stinkers, like last night, on the season so far.

Yeah maybe...but if there's better options for the PK then the goalie might not have to make the save he didnt when there was a PK goal against...

There's many problems haha, not just Sully. No one suggested it was just Sully, or at least that I'm aware of.

EDIT: nevermind...you did hahaha

Yeah I dunno, watching the team suck nuts for 50 minutes and tie it up with 10 isn't really fun to me. Sure I enjoy the comeback, and the win, but the overall product sucks balls.

PK is running the same guys as last season for the most part and was largely thought around here to be top 5 (or maybe top 10) again but the PK is such a crap shoot. I'd be curious to see how often a team is consistently good on the PK over the course of a few seasons.

I'm at that age now where I can't even start the games until I after I get the kids to bed. I lasted until first intermission before passing out.

Thank God we don't have to play the isles again for a while...zzzzzz.

I think Tanev and blueger are really good on the PK. ZAR is decent. It's really Jankowski and Sceviour that are pure dog poop

Tanev has been worse than Jankowski at xGA/60 on the PK
Blueger has been right under Jankowski.
