Zibanejad problem is obvious, but is there a more offensively inept player than Brett Howden?
yesterday was his first shot on goal in 5 games

He should be sent to the AHL, could care less if it requires waivers and he gets claimed, the guy is terrible. |

When Chytil returns Howden has to sit. He is the absolute bottom of the forward depth chart. |

He is a penalty killer. The only production he brings to the team. |

I haven't checked but I can't imagine there is any other team in the league who have gotten less production from their centermen

He was a first round pick to right? Did he ever show offense in his junior career? |

Luleå expects that Nils Lundkvist will make the trip to New York next season. Most indications are that.

yep, late first rounder by Tampa, scored 38 goals in his season after he was drafted
and 9 goals for us last year
but he could very well go goal-less in this 56 game season, and he'll likely play every game |

This week is a must...next 3 games are Buffalo then NJ back to back
Need all 3 wins. Can't keep losing to those 2 teams |

We all know what's going to happen when Chytil returns...Gauthier is going to be sat, Howden moved to the fourth line wing.
Is it right? No, for sure not. Is that the most probable move if we're following the coaching staff's history? Unfortunately.
Maybe Howden comes out when Kakko or Panarin are back. Even that I'm skeptical of. |

He's so bad and a nonfactor, I completely forgot about him
Yeah, he probably comes out first. But who knows... |

well one thing is for sure and that Quinn hasn't been given the greatest personnel down the middle to work with

Honestly don’t blame the Rangers for thinking they were getting something special in him. WJC year he had 7 points in 7 games and was a +9! He looked much better in year 1 than he has the past 2 years. Have to wonder if he should have been in Hartford this whole time and what that would have done for his development. |

I can't believe people put so much of that into drafting. Not saying you do, but everyone always talks about the WJC during the draft. Its a fun tournament for kids to represent their nations and should have no bearing in the draft.
Look at K'andre during the WJC |

he seemed to be on a solid career trajectory where he could become a 15 goal scorer and kill penalties, but man has he ever crashed and burned

Yeah he’s looking better than the first pick that stole the puck from him and scored. So you never know. But what I do know is Howden is a bum.

It's why I don't see the Rangers getting Eichel. They would have to part with a Laf, Kakko or Fox in the deal. And no way Rangers are doing that. |

Hard no on Fox and Laf. We do have an abundance of wingers though and i could see Kakko being part of the deal. What are we supposed to do with Kakko, Laf, Kreider, Kravtsov, Buch, Panarin? Buch has almost no trade value at this point so he seems like he's sticking around. Not saying the trade is happening but i could live with it. |

If Zib was half the player he was last year, we wouldn't be chasing a first line center, but rather hoping Chytil can take the reigns of the 2c and moving strome down to the 3c. Best case scenario is that Zib turns it around between now and next season and JD/Gorton don't make a knee jerk reaction messing up the rebuild.
I want one of the two Michigan centers. Maybe find a middle 6 center for next season that's an upgrade to either Strome or Chytil (if that's even needed). Swinging for the fences to get Eichel seems irresponsible to me.
But if Eichel is here next season, I won't be mad about it. |
