Nylander with two GWG in a row. Haters can do two things: nothing, and like it. - Zezel
There were at least 7 Leafs players with a better game than Willie the Floater yesterday. He had a decent 1st period and then completely disappeared again

Boys are playing well defensively. Great game last night. Reminds me of the Tampa game just before the covid shut down last spring. They were a lockdown group in that one as well. Thought at the time "Why can't we do that more often". Looks like the lights came on in the gang. Great to see!

They're definitely playing a more structured game. Winning with Hutch in net is proof of that.

Huge to win the opener of this set without Matthews, and to get a good start from Campbell. Go Leafs Go. - Zezel
Agree- huge win for Leafs. First shutout of the season for Leafs and Campbell is signed for $1.65M for next year. Like that guy - he'd not a flopper. Looks like his mates like him as well. Nylander was outstanding again as was Marner. Not much mention of Bogosian - but he's been pretty good for a bottom pairing guy. Best troll repellent I've seen in a while.
It's funny how Leafs fans on here went from "Babcock is the new Messiah" to hating on the guy like he was a war criminal - just in a few years - MaximusAurelius
Most people are able to adapt and change their opinions given new information.
You aren't - which is why you continue to make silly claims like "Holtby is a top 5 goalie in the NHL"

It's almost like they saw him sewer the team for years and changed their minds

I'm curious to see more of Campbell. A great backup plays great 25-30 games in a year, but for whatever reason they just don't have the consistency or physical or mental stamina to play successfully in 45-50 games. McElhinney was a great example of that. Typically speaking the more games he played, the fewer quality starts he would have. But he was rock solid as a backup.
You all may have talked about this last night during the game . . . but what I liked about Campbell's game is how well he controlled the puck. When Carey Price is at his best, he interrupts the offense's ability to gain and control the offensive zone - whether through interrupting shoot-ins, or catching and freezing the puck, or controlling rebounds and keeping the puck close.
Campbell did a really nice job of catching the puck and just stopping the play so Edmonton struggled to gain a lot of long drawn out zone time. There were moments when the puck was moved around well by the Oilers obviously, but when given the chance, I thought Campbell did a really nice job of catching the puck and closing down the momentum.
