Gaudreau signed for $6.8 when others signed for $8m/year..
Treliving gloated to the media after he signed Brodie to a cheap deal, and literally said they signed him at a great price, I think that's why he left for TO

Players remember things like that. I think that's why Mangiapane was playing hard ball - on the surface it seemed odd. Then you consider Gaudreau's comments early this season about being apart from Monahan "longer than expected" last season, and he's got enough reasons to be disgruntled.

- eastcanadAREaholes

Everything you wrote is made-up nonsense. Brodie wanted to stay, but the Flames weren't really all that interested in bringing him back. They never made him an offer and it's public knowledge that they had already tried to trade him to the Leafs.

I don't think Gaudreau and Monahan have been separated for more than a period since they started playing together, so whatever comment you're making up doesn't even make sense. All of Gaudreau's comments before the season were about how much he loved playing with Monahan, how he felt the Flames were really close to being an elite team, and how in sync his love life is with Monahan's. He hasn't made a single public comment to lend any credence to the rumour that he wants to leave the Flames to move back in with his parents.

Hall's not looking to play for Calgary as soon as possible, Gaudreau isn't destined for Philly, and the Tkachuk bros aren't forcing trades to St. Louis or Arizona.

Gaudreau was separated from Monahan longer than he expected last season. You're such an a** - you think you just have to interchange "for a period", then dismiss the comment, get out of here - I'd take it to you in shinny.
Sounds like you're a typical calgarypuck member - they're so dense they can't admit Bennett only tries in the playoffs, and keep hoping "he finds his game" LOL please.

Everything YOU WROTE - is non-sense. Gaudreau signed at 6.8 - when other players were signing for 8m/yr *get over yourself!* - and he's said 7 years is a very long time to be in one place - but it's calgarypuck policy to have a selective memory

BIG difference this time is JG has all the power after next year and the longer Calgary waits the less leverage Calgary has. Either you think you can win this year or you risk pulling a Jay Feaster. If a hockey trade exists in the pandemic NHL, JG will be gone!
- DEDDIE

Was Feaster the guy who had that diabolical plan in the 2012 draft to trade down to sneak Mark "the janitor" Jankowski from all of the other teams before he got selected in the 5th round?

The comments you're quoting are made up. He never said either of those things. If he had made either of those comments, Eric Francis would have made them headlines for a month. You know the internet lets you look up pretty much anything these days right? Maybe check out how much time Gaudreau and Monahan spent apart last year. The only time they spent apart was when they were double shifting Gaudreau.

Not a single mention of Monahan playing without Gaudreau, but please, give a link to the quote where Gaudreau is complaining about anything.

Here's something he actually said.

“I’m extremely excited about that,” Gaudreau said. “He’s a close buddy off the ice and a guy I’ve played with pretty much every single game since I’ve been here almost. So to be able to start the season off with him, we’re really confident in each other and we’re excited to get this going. There’s not too many other players in the league I’d want as my centreman, so I’m fired up to play with him. We’re going to have a lot of success.”

Sure sounds like he's disgruntled and wants out.

I also completely get it's all carefully worded PR talk, but the fact remains that he's never made a public comment suggesting he isn't anything but happy in Calgary. Post a link to either of the comments you're saying he made and I'll delete my account immediately.

That one hurt especially with Tom Wilson still on the board. He did draft Gaudreau in the 4th round the previous year though.

The draft is such a crapshoot after the top 5 and in some instances top 10 (in rare cases top 3, Benny ). So let's cut some slack for our ex GM Feaster. He did draft some good players. The problem with the Flames is they are always one key piece away... when the team was playing amazing... we didn't have a good goaltender... now we got a good goalie and the team doesn't play well

So the bottom line with you:
1. you have a selective memory
2. you're in denial
3. whether a player said something or not, depends on whether you personally claim they said it or not

I wouldn't back down to you in shinny dude - you're probably the type of guy who runs his mouth about people behind their back, especially at work, and you twist the narrative until it suits you.

and by the way, if you think you're going to boss people around to get links for you, you've got problems. There's no reason to give you links, that's what he said & he signed for below market value - so that's just something you're going to have to accept and live with. The great thing about shinny is that your verbal gymnastics game don't get you anywhere on the ice, if you whined I'd go even harder.

Getting aggressive with shinny threats may be the weirdest choice of insult I've seen on here.

So good job I guess.
