What’s it take to get this kid? - jessehub
JG, Tkachuk, Vali, and/or Andersson would be involved, I’d imagine. Throw in a 1st or 2 as well. |

Leafs fan in Calgary here. 7 years of Fan960 having nothing but praise for Flames and Treliving, suddenly today they all turned on Flame players, when really its the Gm’s fault, he has built a mediocre team that has slim chance of playoff success (only Markstrom standing on his head could get them any wins) should have traded Gadreau and Giordano 2 years ago. |

Tough to trade your best players away when you are trying to contend.
I like many things Tre has done, others not so much.
I think where Tre has falied is to get rid of the players whom are just there to collect a paycheck. Seems there is problems in the room and i think it revolves around that theme.

Those on the inside are aware many Flames players have been disgruntled with a few among them who are dominating the leadership group, specifically due to their lack of maturity. While some outmoded media members and loyal Flames sycophants continue to eulogize and promote such leadership, these players continue to grind the gears of many teammates.
Before the season began, I believed the few callow players would mature, allowing the team to become more cohesive. Instead, despite a couple of prompt early season players meetings, the gulf between various players seems to be expanding. Augmentation of the leadership group or significant roster turnover is required to address this imbalance. I mistakenly wagered the problematic players might mature, and foolishly gambled the Flames would finish 1st or 2nd in the North division. However, I now acknowledge the abrupt changes required are unlikely, and it is likely I have lost my wager. Hopefully solutions can be found during the off-season. If complacency prevails it is likely these extended rough patches will continue into next season. |

Ottawa's 1st (unprotected) and Logan Brown for Monahan?
assuming Cgy decides to rebuild, that's likely 2 top 10 picks - sensarmy_11
I'd take it

A lot and it would be a mistake to overpay for him - the Flames are about to enter a rebuild and there was a suggestion on the Fan that the Flames move Tkachuk, Valimaki and 2 1sts for him.
That would be stupid. Everyone seems to forget what the Kessel trade did to Toronto and what the Karlsson trade (so far) has done to San Jose.

Hard No! I would not trade Tkachuk period. I would be ok with Johnny, Monny and 2 1sts because I know anyone wanting Eichel will have to pay up. |

Eichel is good, no doubt. How many times has his team made the playoffs with him though? |

This is well written and you have a wonderful vocabulary. We’re losing because half the team stops moving their feet once we gain the offensive zone, we barely cycle, and our zone entries/exits are Eakins-esque. Not because of a lack of maturity among leadership. |

Thanks guys, I do stream when there blacked out I just find it ridiculous that sports net blacks out these games just to show an nbc stream of American teams, extremely so considering the game is in Ottawa and I’m in Ontario you’d think I’d be considered in the right region |
