I would absolutely bring Kessel back. I think a McCann for Kessel deal straight up would work. Tanev-Blueger-Kessel could give the HBK line a run for their money.
Not sure this is the type of move Hextall will be looking at but the Pens don't need Kessel to carry any heavy weight. Do the powerplay thing and add a bit more scoring to that 3rd line. - MacPatty
Come on man..you know Kessels pants are way too short. For real though, I wouldn't give up assets for Kessel at this point just because he's on a hot streak. Dude has been poop for 3 seasons at even strength.
Now just hypothetically speaking...would you rather have Kessel and Horny or Zucker, POJ, and Matheson? |

Rutherford already talking about returning with another team. He really comes off as a self-important tool bag.
I hope Hextall makes a trade with him and fleeces him lol. |

I question that. He turns 35 soon, makes $9.5M this year and next, and has looked like crap this year. Also coming off an injury. $9.5M is quite a lot during covid times. - Hockey66

We see hits all the time when the puck is at their feet/before they actually have possession. Plus, he himself said that he touched the puck. He's splitting hairs over what constitutes possession when we all know the player doesn't need control of the puck to be eligible.
It was late, no doubt. Interference. - Blackstrom2
Oooh okay, gotcha gotcha. I agree with that. |

I love POJ but given the Pens depth at LD I think you'd have to consider what you could work out with them.
Turcotte or Kupari and Kaliyev for POJ and Legare? Basically the Pens give up an A+ and a B prospect for two A prospects.
If Petterson was young enough for them I'd flip him for Kupari in a heartbeat.
I wouldn’t trade PO Joseph but Pettersson for sure. I’d do that in a heartbeat.

Nope. They honestly look like the Pens the year they lost to the Isles. There's something missing from their game.

I know I can come up with some silly trade ideas sometimes, but I've been staying out the last two pages. There are just some super dingbat ideas being thrown around.

I'm curious to see what the Devils plan to do about Gusev.
You guys think a 2nd + Poulin would be overpay? underpay? fair? stupid? Assume the Pens can work out an extension pre-trade. |

What's Gusev been doing? I'd rather try and snag Palmeri, but it may not be an option. |

I honestly don't really know, but he sounds like a player who would mesh well with Geno. Plus he's younger and the Pens could maybe extend him.

2 seasons in Arizona he’s been poor at ES. His last season in Pittsburgh he went 52-44 goal differential at 5v5, which is pretty good. He’s also a +54 in those 3 seasons on the PP.
This answer is easy.
Kessel and Horny. |

I would trade Poj for an equal level prospect forward. Especially a centre. |

I wanted to trade him in the offseason after the cup, so I know what Kessel is. The Pens got an A+ prospect for him and they currently have Zucker on IR (likely to be ready for the playoffs) so cap isn't an issue until next season when the Pens likely move a LD. I'm not saying it is the best thing they could do but it would help them improve in their biggest need, relatively cheaply.
Not everyone has to wear long pants, if you can create offence in the bottom 6 you get a pass. You can't be vanilla like Jank and Sceivour and have short pants. Didn't Burke pay a fortune to trade for Kessel back in the day?
Per your choices, could go either way. I'll say Zuck, POJ and MM but it's an incomplete scenario. Kessel and Horny should have a pick with them which would even it out. MM is a big question mark. |

That would be a criminal overpay. Our top prospect and our highest pick in this draft for a softie who hasn't done anything in the NHL? I'd try him as a rental for a 3rd rounder maybe.
And you chirp my trade ideas!?!? As others have said, if you are trading with the Devils, Palmeri is the guy to get (though I still wouldn't give up that much). |

This is the best option, I just dont think the Pens have the juice to get it done. Toronto was offering something like Nylander, Dermot and a 2nd... I don't even know if we would have enough to get Nylander. |
