Leo, Hickey Ladd that's over 10 million in dead money and that's what's preventing Lou from doing anything. They would have really been facked if JB didn't get hurt. I just don't see much change in this roster until the second season at Belmont when they have a ton of money coming off the books. It's crazy that they have 8 million buried in the minors. That's your first line winger cash

Martin didn’t have to be resigned we could’ve thrown someone else in there aka Johnston who is still signed this year and next but that’s of course debatable but then that makes Johnston’s contract redundant. Komarov is obviously overpaid for what he brings along with Hickey who isn’t playing in the nhl and at the time was a ridiculous contract and term. Also, I didn’t mention two guys I mentioned four that were unnecessary salaries arguably save for Martin even though we already have a similar player in Johnston signed. Yes, agreed Ladd is of course a terrible contract but Im referring to players that were signed to contracts that were defended on here hence why I didn’t even bring that clown up.

Summed up it was a waste of cap space which is always at a premium even before covid. Also, I don’t love Bailey but at least he’s a contributing player.

Thats why I said “arguably” for Martin’s contract I understand a lot of people are fine with his contract. I don’t dislike Martin I just don’t like his term and the contract as a whole really but I get it. My point is we don’t need Johnston and Martin. We didn’t need to sign Komarov to that stupid contract along with Hickey. That’s dead money that wouldn’t have been spent on a roster spot because it’s literally dead money.
