I could see Wahlstrom getting close to 50 goals at some point in his NHL career. He is a dynamic player and is going to be an elite player.

I think mid 30s is possible, 50 is elite and not many do that anymore

I could see him getting 10 to 15 this season. In a full season could see 40 to 45 goals.

Lee is having an amazing season. He is going to get close to 30 goals this season. He is one of the best captains in islanders history

That’s a wee bit optimistic I think. I see him as more of a Brendan Gallagher, rather than a Tarasenko.

Had to soften them up for Zibanejad.

You’re welcome by the way.

Just read an intriguing article. Since Nashville is in full tank mode how about seeing if Filip Forsberg is a good fit here. What would they ask for him

There’s nothing intriguing on this site
https://eyesonisles.com/2...ity-filip-forsberg-trade/

With that said I would love to have him

A 1st and a prospect would be my guess. Unfortunately the Islanders don’t have the room financially, nor the picks.

That's OK people on Twitter want ovie here and that's impossible especially with lands deal. They would need Seattle to take ladd for picks they also don't have

I’m at the point where I’d just buy Ladd out. Two years at 4.8 followed by two more years at $333,333.

Not great, but tolerable.

I've seen the Ovie talk. I see virtually no way he plays for anyone other than the Caps. He has a close relationship with the ownership including Rich Fairbank. He'll be with the Caps pretty much to the end.

I think we're likely stuck without making any big moves for players until Ladd comes off the books. Interesting to note that we only have one pending UFA at the end ofthis year (Cizikas) whom I kind of doubt we will resign. If only we could find a way to unload Komarov and Ladd....

Komarov and Bellows to Seattle for future considerations. It sucks, but it’s not like Bellows is gonna play for the Islanders anyway.

It certainly doesn't appear Trotz is big on him. I also sometimes get the feeling he's not big on Casey. He's already spent some 'shame minutes' on the bench this season

Probs is his money is basically all bonus money which is counted on the cap regardless of buy out.

Komarov contract at the time = not a big deal we have plenty of room.
Johnston contract at the time= not a big deal
Martin contract = not a big deal we’ll never be up against the cap.
Hickey contract= not a big deal

This is exactly what it’s a big deal.

Also, have two seconds and a first in next years draft.

My apologies. When I said the Islanders don’t have the picks, I was referring to quality. Their 1st is likely (hopefully) going to be a late one, and this isn’t a terribly strong draft. Thus I think the Islanders would easily be out bid picks wise.
