It's one you can throw on with a group of people who like different types of music and it tends to go over well.

Grosse Pointe Break is another soundtrack that is like that as well as as someone said more of a bunch of good songs thrown together vs ones written for the movie.

I have a few more that come to mind - won't bother posting the album covers but:

Tarintino movies tend to have good soundtracks (maybe it's because he always had sound bites from the movie as tracks?)

Pulp Fiction and From Dusk to Dawn were a couple I really listened to a lot.

The Faculty Sountrack was pretty good.

Se7en soudtrack sticks in my brain - mostly just because of the one song "Guilty" from Gravity Kills.

Godzilla - 1/2 or so of the songs were decent + RATM !!!!!

Back in the day I was buying alot of CD's that were movie soundtracks because they had 1 or 2 good songs. Man have times changed!

I was sure someone would have posted Batman from 1989 for this all time classic song that surely will be around for generations.

Like the Pulp Fiction soudtrack and Dusk til Dawn. I have to confess all I remember about Dusk Til Dawn movie was Salma Hayak

I think of all the great artists on The Crow, my favourite song was the one by Jane Sibbery. It was Burn, by The Cure that came up on spotify today that made me think of the soundtrack though.

I am hoping they continue to lockdown a playoff spot now so that they have the chance to rest some guys here and there, especially Ander5en.

I don't think it matters who they face in the 1st round.

I remember Quentin living the life he would have if he didn't get into directing. Danny Treho vamping it up. The penis gun. Salma Hayek (woooo) and the always wondering why the son was Asian and how they always kind of skirted that issue.

Umm, so those seasons dont count?
- Fakepartofme

It's not that they don't count as much as it's subjective.

So if we're going to compare Nylander to a guy like say... Patrick Kane, in terms of being a goal scorer, is it fair to set that sample period as the last 5 years only? Because Kane was well established and into his career by that point, Nylander was taking his first steps in the league for a good chunk of it and then missed half a season.

Its like saying that Carey Price is a poop goalie compared to Carter Hart based on the last two seasons. There's a lot of variables at play, and if you want to draw the direct comparison it's apples to oranges.

Also, why would you even compare Nylander to Kane? Which was the basis of that comment initially which included a reference to Nylander not being a good goal scorer over the last 5 years because his numbers don't compare to guys like Matthews and Pastrnak over that period.

For me the Crow soundtrack was all about the tunes from RATM, The Cure, STP, NIN (doing Joy Division), Femmes, even Rollins.....hard to pick just one but if I had to I'd probably go with NIN covering Joy Division.

The Crow 2 soundtrack makes me instantly think of Hole covering Gold Dust Woman (well in my opinion, I like the darker, grungier version more than the original) and Rob Zombie but I just looked at it and there were some other good tunes/bands on there as well like Shelf life by 7 Mary 3 or this one

Yep.

To lock down a spot early and give him some extra rest would be very good and yet another 'unleafy' thing.

At the end of the day some Leaf fans (I know me for sure) get too excited about the Leafs being in 1st and start wringing our hands and stressing if they are not. I'm trying to be better about it and develop a "just worry about making the playoffs and playing more and more like they need to for playoff success" attitude and it helps (a bit).

Sure seeing them score 5, 6,7 or 8 goals is fun but we all know that rarely happens come playoff time. I'd take all low scoring wins with some losses sprinkled in (to ensure they stay modest and hungry) if the trade off is to learn (and buy in on) how to lock down a 1 goal lead (Cough ** or 4 goal lead **Cough) now and become excellent at it so you can do it when it matters.

We have seen as recently as the Kings that as long as you get to the dance there is the possibility you get to go home with the prom queen!

I must confess, my "what if" right now is "what if we didn't sign Tavares, kept Kadri, and used the money on D."
- Atomic Wedgie

Here, let's take a look at the events and opportunities there:

Coming out of 2017-18, our roster was:

Hyman - Matthews - Marner
JVR - Kadri - Nylander
Marleau - Bozak - Brown
Komarov / Gauthier / Moore / Kapanen / Johnsson / Martin

Rielly - Hainsey
Gardiner - Zaitsev
Dermott - Carrick - Polak - Borgman

Going into Free Agency, we would lose or trade: JVR, Bozak, Martin, Komarov, Polak and Carrick (technically this was October 1, 2018)

Coming into 2018

IN: Ennis, Ozhiganov, Lindholm, Sparks; we don't sign Tavares

Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Johnsson - Kadri - Nylander
Marleau - ??? - Kapanen
Ennis - Gauthier - Brown (Petan /Lindholm)

Rielly - Hainsey
Gardiner - Zaitsev
Dermott - Ozhiganov / Marincin / Holl

In Season Trade: Acquire Muzzin for Moore(+) and Petan in for Lindholm.

There is $11m in capspace available. We're keeping Kadri, but we need a 3rd line centre. Realistic (based on them leaving their original teams, so Couture, for example, is excluded) UFA options available are:

- Stastny (32yo, $6.5m x 3),
- Bozak (32yo, $5m x 3),
- Beagle (32yo, $3m x 4),
- Riley Nash (29yo, $2.75m x 3),
- Brodziak (34yo, $1.15m x 2);

Let's say that instead we go shopping for a traded centre in this same period -

Galchenuyk for Domi happened (Domi was @ $3.15m x 2);
O'Rielly ($7.5m x 5 remaining) was traded for garbage (Sobotka, Berglund & Tage Thompson) + 1st & 2021 2nd

So they either keep Bozak at $5m or, if he was being shopped, we get Domi out of Arizona for someone like Kapanen - but it would have left around $6-7m on the cap. Maybe you get someone like a Beagle or Nash at around $3m because they're functionally able to play 3rd line, but that's an overpayment on Beagle or Bozak. If we want to avoid the crunch that forced us to drop Brown, lose a 1st for Marleau, and ultimately lose Johnsson and Kapanen, then we're still not looking at a massive defensive upgrade (although I would bet that both Matthews & Marner come in $1m cheaper each without the Tavares contract as a benchmark) - but let's ignore that for a moment and say that most defensive options available in 2018 through UFA would likely have ended up being a mistake:

- Doughty (28yo, $11m x 8),
- McDonagh (29yo, $6.75m x 7),
- Oliver Ekman-Larsson (26yo, $8.25m x 8),
- Hjalmarsson (31yo, $5m x 2),
- Johnson (31yo, $3.25m x 5),
- DeHaan (27yo, $4.55m x 4),
- Ellis (27yo, $6.25m x 8)

-- by the way, all names listed there with the exception of DeHaan and Johnson were resigned by their former team.

The only real notable defensive trade that happened was Hanifin and Lindholm to Calgary for Hamilton, Ferland and Fox. I don't think we had the currency to be in on either end of that trade.

So while I wonder myself what could have been, when you lay out the options before you, outside of maybe jumping in on Domi or jumping in on O'Rielly, I'm not sure what we could or would have done differently that would have been as beneficial as signing Tavares. There just wasn't a dearth of defensive options available.
