I really like Shaq Barrett as well

The Salary Cap should go up quite a bit in 2years,
so I’d like to see the Bills get as much top end talent locked up now- even if that means being really thin with depth
Then when the Cap goes up after next season,
we can fill in any gaps in the depth department we need

- jdfitz77

i think the bucs would keep him over david if forced to make a choice...as for the rest, i'm of the opposite opinion--use this draft and lower-end fa's to upgrade and build depth while battling with a lower cap...come 2022 those rookies will have a year under their belt, the cap will surge, josh is in the final year of his rookie contract and then they can make a big splash (or two?) while also using the 2022 draft to upgrade and build more depth

What % do you blame skinner/ krueger

Me:

Skinner 75% blame - 1 assist
Krueger 25% blame - bring the best out in your players

- Boss34

I'm with you. I put most of this squarely on the player.

You seem to forget Josh is coming up and Edmunds if you keep him is coming up in 2 yrs, if you can get a younger player on a good deal great, but these players and there agents aren't stupid they know that the cap will be going up too.
- Buff36

How EXACTLY am i “forgetting” that?

The Cap in the NFL will skyrocket over the next few years
There will be plenty of room for Allen’s raise

I flip it...maybe 60/40 coach to Skinner. Good coaches allow their players to do what they do best. Ralph Kruger is almost as bad at it as Ted Nolan and/or Ron Rolston.

From what our insiders have said,
the Pegulas don’t wanna bring in a Team Pres
That’s why i keep hoping that Ralph will just move into a management position like that (since they trust him)
And then we bring in a better coach to handle day to day stuff like the lineup, etc

Good coaches put struggling proven goal scorers in position to get confidence back

Like maybe put hall on second team for pp and give skinner a few shifts on top unit

I’m not sure what Tampa’s Cap space looks like,
I just like those 2 LBs

I’d rather get difference making players now,
Bc they’ll cost a lot less than when the Cap explodes
Depth can be drafted, and acquired more easily when the Cap goes up

it's inherently flawed when you consider a management position like that will dictate the overall identity of the team and the direction it moves

Paul Hamilton made a point today that Skinner's last 30 games - that's 30 games - played with Jack have been non productive. I'm the last person who wants non-NHLer, 37, anywhere in the lineup letalone top line, but 53's made his own bed...even if Ralph is pissing in it now. Too bad, so sad as the saying goes.

So you’d rather let a $9mil player just waste away,
instead of trying to get him back on track?

That makes ZERO sense

Exactly.
Kinda like Adams now telling Kruggy that he shouldn’t scratch Skinner, and Ralphy just says, Ok, we’ll see what the hockey ops authoritay thinks....

Why do so many people have this attitude? Does it not occur to anyone else that spending one game in the Press Box Jeff Skinner may see something that allows him to adjust his game? Furthermore, even if Jeff Skinner does not improve from this it certainly could be the coaches mindset because at this point what else hasn't been tried?

I want Ralph fired this very second, but Jeff's problems preceded Ralph. If he were to bench Skinner for more than a game I would not agree with it, but I see Zero problem and I mean zero problem whatsoever with Jeff Skinner spending a night in the Press Box on Amazon spending his 9 million dollars.

He's been in the league 11 years. One night in the pressbox isn't going to change Jeff Skinner. Even Lindy Ruff would allow Vanek to cheat out of the d zone to generate offense.

Ralph is just unwilling to bend. Skinner has to operate in the boring system or he'll be benched

skinner scored 20 or more goals seven times prior to ralph which includes three 30-goal seasons and a 40-goal campaign the year before ralph arrived

Skinner-Jack-Sam hasn’t been tried by Ralph
And it was EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE in his 1st year here
Going back to that makes all the sense in the world

Idc about him sitting 1 game
Fine. Whatever.
But where is Ralph gonna put him when he gets back in the lineup?
Give Skinner the best chance to succeed
That’s what a coach is supposed to do anyways

For the life of me I don't understand how Bruce Boudreau is unemployed right now.
