If we're playing the small sample size game:

His 23 goal pace with Coyotes over 82 games would have been 2nd on their team (projecting Garland at 1). In the context of a team that didn't want to score, he did pretty well. Likewise here, I still don't know if he's any good. I certainly wouldn't give him a long extension at $8m but it wouldn't surprise me to see him rebound once he gets to a good team that tries to score

- jcragcrumple

How about large sample size.
Take out his MVP season, he is Sam Reinhart
22/39/61 over 82.
In 11 seasons, he has had 2 over 65 pts, albeit significantly reduced games played each season.
Now he's 29...I don't see it getting better anytime soon.
He played with Eichel, not some scrub here.
It's likely he is now more of a 45 - 50 pt player.
As I have said before, a 3 x $4sh would be the target for me.

Hall has 4 seasons where he scored over a point per game. Reinhart has 0

Why are we taking out literally his best season. That sort of skews it in your favor, no?

I know what you're getting at...but in a vacuum, this is hilarious!

Personally, XGF and XGA are some of the more misleading stats.
Good to look at in a general way, but people put waaaaay too much stock in them.
More refinement is necessary, hopefully coming from the new data info being gathered from on-ice tracking.

He's been injured and missed many games in many seasons...it's a factor that reduces his actual production to very much less than his PPG rate would suggest over 82.
He is Sam Reinhart production, just plays significantly less games per season.

I agree with JCrag and Sbroads that Hall is still driving play at a borderline elite level but the pucks have not been going in.

Given his age we do have to take into account what his value would look like going forward.

If we are talking retaining him on a 4-5 year term at 7M I would retain him personally and get him some help.

There are a lot of moving parts with this franchise though. If Eichel demands out then no, I don’t see the point of keeping Hall.

not really

maybe if the pats get an o line and a few wr's
otherwise they are still a distant 3rd

and people are quick to forget how bad we destroyed miami when that game meant everything for them in week 17 with tua

and no fans then

I'd still focus on what kc, cleveland and indy does as I still see them as the other 3 for the final 4 in the afc

It's called an Anamoly.

Take out this year if it makes you feel better.

He 20/40/60
Sam Reinhart, but at 29 and declining.
It will he so like the Sabres to overpay him.

Ok, now factor in his Bogo-esque games missed. No, not like Bogo, but a quick guess would say he plays 65sh gms per.

$7per...easy, easy pass.

They went 7-9 last season with a bunch of opt outs and no weapons and Cam...

I see them getting a WR and going at worst 9-7 next season
