Staal will most likely be gone but Olofsson with a Staal type on the third line would be wonderful. (Under a new coach obviously)
- DirtyDan

I don't believe Staal has crumbled this badly. This entire team has suffered under this hapless rule.

Too bad.

Housley had 1 brilliant coaching move - he had a gift for deciding when to swap Pominville for Reinhart on the top line and vice versa.

Krueger has a grand total of zero good hockey decisions

It is kinda funny, but eventually that money needs to be paid. Every team is looking for ways to kick the can down the road because of this year. Which means more bad FA markets, until these players with restructured, backloaded contracts start falling off.
- TheSabresTaco

The thing with Beane is he always builds an out for himself in his contracts. Milano's deal is basically a 2yr deal if the Bill's choose to exercise it, he has given himself a little freedom to kick the can down the road on a few deals without killing himself.

Good players have been underperforming on the Sabres since 2008.

Seriously, when was the last time a player came here and exceeded expectations?

No I know, I was kinda just taking the 'Staal' comment in a new direction.

Mahomes just signed his deal

It's funny

I don't want to kick the can down the road too much, BUT because of the amount of talent that has been cut and the age of the guys who contracts and get pushed down the road I am all for making space to sign the right guy.

Don't overspend for someone decent, it has to be for someone really good

- Stripes77

Good Post Stripes, and with Beane he is very good at giving himself outs on contracts so that could offset some of that money he kicks down the road.

Since 2008? Plenty. This year, Ralph has destroyed everyone except for Jake McCabe.

It's all the proof Adams needs to cut this guy loose.

Nice guy Ralph can go be a nice guy somewhere else.

How do the Instigators feel about Asplund replacing Eakin?

Is River talking about how solid of a player Eakin is?

Reinhart is Reinhart, and the other two can't score to save their family's lives. It's impressive, really. Eichel was all sorts of damaged. I don't know what Hall's excuse is, but one thing I do know is that if Eichel was at the top of his game, Hall would look a whole lot better.

He's a fantastic buy low candidate. Like the anti-Skinner. Capitalize. Because Hall's, like Skinner's, numbers are excellent. Except for the whole goal scoring thing.

- TheSabresTaco

Hall has fallen off a cliff.
12 goals in last 58 games is what I read today.

I'd trade him to Edmonton for.......

Ka-BOOM!

Last year girgensons and risto played well

Sam is having a better year (currently) until the inevitable.
McCabe
Risto
Ullmark
Mitts looks like an nhl player finally
Eichel was better last year than ever under Ralph

Ralph has a few players playing better.

had to drive somewhere this afternoon so painstakingly put peters and rivet on the radio and oh my god

they're just desperately arguing with Biron that Eakin HAS to be scratched because hes being traded. He's just way too good to be a healthy scratch. Theres no way.

Skinner.
But then the motivation genius has him watch from the press box for 3 games straight.
What a joke.

Sam is playing the way Sam has always played, past few years.

McCabe has been good, and Risto has not been, without him.

Ullmark has been pretty decent.

Mitts seems to be coming along, playing with an actual linemate for once.

And Eichel, this year, has become a Selke candidate instead of a Rocket candidate.

Cool, thanks Ralph, go (frank) yourself.

My priority list for Free Agency and the draft is:

Edge Rusher
CB 2
TE
Field Stretching WR
OL Depth

- Stripes77

edge rusher Lawson
CB2 hilton (steelers)
TE Everett
WR Patterson or Ross
OL depth Lamp and bring back Boettger
