This is entertaining. I am going to add a warning to liberals as this may trigger them.

NHL one punch knockouts.

Do you think the skimmer benching and treatment had anything to so with the 10 game winless streak?

Or was it just easier to win early again?

Or a combo?

- Boss34

In order of significance for me:

- Ralph's system isn't a fit for this roster.
He has completely misjudged what this roster had been built for. His stubbornness is quite remarkable and is very alarming to anyone who has any sense of hockey and coaching. The vast majority of players have regressed to their worst level of play and production. He is virtually ruining players before our eyes. He should be fired immediately before he completely destroys the young guys in Dahlin, Joker, Cozens, Bryson, etc...he is literally Coaching the life out if these guys. He would have made a great Gulag Lieutenant.

- Ullmark & McCabe being injured was/is huge.
McCabe with Risto was some good stuff. Now, Risto without Jake is less than desireable, and it has screwed up the pairings.

- Jack playing hurt limited his production.
Ray Charles could see it, unlike alot/most of the fans who blame it on him checking out.

- Hall and Staal have fallen off a cliff.
I don't know exactly why. I guess age for Staal, combined with a complete lack of desire...he is just trying to get through the season. Hall? He is a complete disappointment, and has lost a step.

- Inexperience of Kevyn Adams.
I like several of his moves during the offseason, but he clearly didn't do enough. He and his staff completely missed on the evaluation on Hutton. He just isn't good enough, and Johansson isn't either (yet?...he shows flashes, but then poops the bed too). [I will say I find it funny that fans jumped on him and Johansson in 2 straight 0-3 losses when they posted .923 SV%...it could have been .977 and they still would have lost! One of the best posts ever].

- Overall, the mental fragility of the players is mind blowing, and has been for 20 years. I don't think they have a clue on how to evaluate the mental, intangibles of prospects. It is highly tilted towards skill and skill only.

- Benching of Skinner.
Goes to the points above about a) mental fragility if the roster is that deeply affected to cause losing of 15 of last 19 games, b) Krueger stubbornness.

Excellent post

The only thing I partically disagree with: ruining players.

Yes, krueger is temporarily teaching these guy's a different system.
Not sure if less than 100 nhl games does permanent damage.

Maybe? Hope not .....

Still can't believe the Bruins gave Backes that contract back in the day. Jack Johnson ... it just can't be explained how this guy is still in the league.

Probably worse because Backes was already on the decline and had a ton of mileage on him. Okposo's decline wasn't there yet but you knew it was coming.

I believe the Pegulas are working on the NHL record for a team with the most continuous seasons without making the playoffs. That will happen this year and the City of Buffalo will be remembered for it. Thank you Kim and Terry!

I go back a ways and believe this team under this coach might just be the absolute worst in Buffalo history...that includes the years with the Bill's as a laughing stock under the likes of:
Kay Stephenson
Hank Bullough
John Rauch
Jim Ringo
Harvey Johnson

That group produced a whopping 26 - 106 - 1 record.

At 36 - 47 - 12 Ralph is no where near that level of pitiful performance, but his teams do look every bit as inept.

Since their quick start at 9 - 2 - 2 last season, Krueger has coached the team to a 27 - 45 - 10 record in 82 games, posting 64 points...just 10 pts more than the Tank Season under Teddy of 23 - 51 - 8 good for 54 pts....when they were actively trying to lose!!!

Since 2012, the Sabres have selected no worse than 8th OA in the draft EIGHT TIMES, and have drafted 11 1st rounders since 2012.

They currently have 14 First Rounders playing

Holy crap this organization is a complete disgrace.

I wouldn't compare them to the early 80s Bills teams. Those teams had no talent and bad coaching. The current team has pieces.
