Here's something positive : Bryson has looked good. He looks like a real, actual NHL player that another (good) team would have. It's almost like he doesn't belong here, but belongs on a team like the Bruins or something. He's fun to watch...and it's surprising to see someone with actual talent on our team.

Sure, Ralph will ruin him soon, but for now...he's a joy to watch.

Borgen looked like he belonged too. The Sabres could have a very young decent Dcore in a year or 2 if some of these kids keep growing
Dahlin Joker Borgen Bryson Samuelsson Laaksonen and Johnson on the way. A little bit of everything Puck movers, stay at home D, grit and snarl.

the owners don't care

they read what hamilton is writing

The one thing that gets forgotten is that when LaFontaine came on board as pres it was rumored that he wanted to try to save the season and not trade miller and company. That season was lost and those guys needed to be moved. We don't know what kind of Pres he would have been... but it would have been good to have one.

might sound stupid but i think this team would have been competitive this year

they were for 10 games, then they all quit after the skinner garbage

- robz228

You were duped again, just like last year with the "9-2-2" mantra.
Easier to win early in the season as coaches are still trying to figure out their team and competition, while players haven't kicked into high gear.

Not even talking about LaLa, I mean you think it couldn't get any lower, and they find a way to do it.

The team should have been better and you're right - they were hanging their hat on stretches where the team played alright. The fancy stats last year said that the good run they had was pure luck and good goaltending and they were right. Any terrible team can have stretches where they don't look completely terrible, and that's exactly what the first 10 or 15 games of this year were.

I've never ever blamed a coach for our team sucking the past 10 years. I've always blamed the players (rightfully so), and was of the belief that yes, you CAN "fire" the players (I was so sick of hearing "well, you can't fire the players, so yeah, get rid of the coach"). BUT, that being said, this is the first time I've ever directly blamed the coach. I hate to admit it, but he's just awful and it's plain to see. Anybody that knows anything about hockey knows that Ralph is the problem. His lines have been downright baffling - like he's TRYING to lose. The whole Skinner thing is just embarrassing. He's somehow ruined Dahlin to the point of I'm not sure he can be saved (on this team). His stubborn use of his "system" is mind-boggling. And going back to last year, his usage of a goalie with a known vision issue was head-scratching.

I realize he's here to stay until some point next season (not firing him now and paying him, like so many others the Pegula's are paying not to be here), unless they can somehow miraculously turn this around early next season (yeah, right). BUT, he REALLY needs to go now (but he won't). He sucks so hard. Nice guy, but he's the worst.

If the owners and manager doesn't care how Ralph does his job why should I care how I do mine?

Do you think the skimmer benching and treatment had anything to so with the 10 game winless streak?

Or was it just easier to win early again?

Or a combo?

They need to start the goal count during the game, but for the losses, instead.

Something worthwhile discussing. If a cardboard cutout has a bag over its head should it have eye holes? The Sabres media department put this out to help keep fans somewhat interested.
