Those first 10 games they were the better team in all but 1 of them but just couldn’t bury despite the chances.

The 6-1 win of Philly was one of the best Sabres games I can remember watching in a very long time.

Then mental fragility kicked in and the team gave up on the coach.

I woke up this morning hoping that I would find news on the internet that Ralph was no longer coach of the Buffalo Sabres.

And I don't see it anywhere.

You just don’t understand the complexities of merging the principles of futball into the game of hockey. Defense drives the offense. If you are sound defensively clearly the offense will come. The problem is the players have not committed to defense and defending as a 6 man unit. You hear about playing as a 5 man unit. But there are clearly 6 players on the ice. Those 6 need to commit to defense to allow the 5 man unit the opportunity, to break out into a defensive wave up the ice. Making sure to stay to the outside. Making sure not to finish checks in the offensive zone as to not put themselves out of position defensively. They have to commit to the outside. Stay weak on the boards and make sure they get it back to the point for a shot. They must never get to the front of the net because it puts them out of the perimeter defensive unit. I don’t understand why people can’t figure out the nuances and details of Ralph’s system. Ralph is just coaching so far above these players and you think you can understand defense driving offense hockey. Please, the players just need to get on the same synergistic defensive plane as Ralph. They must commit to 6 man unit defense before the 5 man defensive unit can even think about scoring. Do you get it now!?!!!

They're not firing him as they'll have to keep paying him after he's gone. Pegula doesn't want to do that ... again, especially while he's losing TONS of money due to the pandemic. Ralph is here to stay - at least until some point next season. They can "justify" firing him after another crappy start next season.

Until then, we will suffer.
