Side note-

Didnt like Peter's as a player particularly. He was tough though.

Great guy off the ice. Was always a speaker at todd Marchant hockey camp. Had time to chat and was very laid back.

He was very very tough. It was just.... interesting... that he just seemed to stop throwing punches at some point. I guess in that sense he was smart but it was just odd to see an enforcer that wrestled. He seems like a good dude. If memory serves me we picked him with the pick we got for LaFontaine?

Probably someone like Adam Mair is ideal as the guy who will throw down when needed but isn't impersonating a hockey player.

Not really- not in his playing days anyways
He used to come into the bar i worked at quite often & was almost always loud, aggressive & obnoxious towards the staff & other patrons

Seems a lot more decent now that he doesn’t drink or do drugs anymore though

Jeff Skinner skated with the extras during Sunday's practice.
That raised questions about whether Skinner would be a healthy scratch on Monday. For his part, Sabres coach Ralph Krueger said he'll make the decision on Monday. Skinner has no goals and one assist in 14 games this season. He's only in the second season of his eight-year, $72 million contract.

Will Borgen is dealing with an injury.
Borgen was hurt when he blocked a shot. He's regarded as day-to-day and is questionable for Monday's contest.

Something really has to be done about the rift between Kruger & Skinner
This is ridiculous

Put them back together & play around with the other lines for f*cks sake

And not limiting goals
All the more reason a good defensive line would be helpful

And again,
the LOG line was UNQUESTIONABLY better than either of our bottom6 lines this season
Not even close

- jdfitz77

Wrong.

We've given up fewer goals than the #2, #3 and #4 seeds in our division

Scoring goals is the problem

Doesn’t mean we wouldn’t be giving up LESS if we had a good defensive line like the LOGs instead of our crappy bottom6 lines

Reality alludes you

Just an opinion, but he never seemed like an " angry fighter". He was just doing his job.
Maybe after he earned some $,he was wrestle/ fighting to keep his job?
Lots of tough guys fight less when they become better actual nhl players- not in this case 😀

* on the instigators Peter's talked about being sober for maybe 8-10 years or so? Wonder if that makes a difference if it coincided with his fights changing?

Huge Brad May fan , probably top 3 all.time sabres.
He could fight and score.

He was an amazing fighter but I think his career has to be considered a disappointment because of where he was drafted. He never put the goals in the way that we needed him to.

As I have just proven, giving up too many goals is not the issue. Scoring fewer goals than all but the Devils is the issue.

But by all means, keep crying about Larry

Putting aside he makes 9 mil a year do you really think he deserves to play on the top line. Maybe a little press box time will give him time to ponder that question himself. There’s obviously more to the story so I will trust Ralph on this one. Maybe he wants out and their giving him a little push.

Just bc it’s “not an issue” doesn’t mean that being even better defensively wouldn’t help

The LOG line was MUCH better than either of our bottom6 lines this year
Heck, you could argue they were better than ANY of our lines at 5v5 so far this season

I think the Sabres DESERVE for their coach to put the players in the best chance to succeed

Skinner killed it that year he played with Jack & Sam
Makes no sense to have broken that line up

Whatever is going on behind the scenes needs to be figured out
Idc who’s “fault” it is
Just fix the problem!!!

it's maddening the time he gives to the reider/eakin/okposo line...absolutely maddening

eakin (16:07) lead the team in forward ev toi vs. the devils...olofsson (15:49) 2nd, jack (15:26) 3rd, okposo (15:18) 4th

bottom evtoi:

staal 10:36
cozens 10:54
skinner 11:22

*shrugs*

Summary - they don't really miss Larsson nor Girgensons, especially on the PK that was absolutely horrible last season. Nor do they miss them at 5v5 as GA isnt their primary issue.
Scoring at 5v5 is clearly the single biggest issue. Lazar, Reider and Sheahan have replaced the production of Larsson and Girgensons at 5v5 having already produced 41% of their goals in 20% of last year's 69 games.
The issue is lack if 5v5 scoring from Eichel, Skinner, Olofsson, Sam, Staal, etc.

I'd say May played had a great career

18 nhl years
Over 1,000 games played (went to Toronto for the Sabres/ leafs ) 1000 game with my cousin.
Stanley cup champion

Probably should have scored alot more goals, he would get some prime la la opportunities. Mogilny- lala- may

Really solid nhl career 2000+ pims

Don't get me wrong - he could play 3rd line wing for me any day. That said... more often then not he didn't hit 10 goals in a season and his career high was only 18. He never turned in to a top 6 winger like he hoped he would but he had a fine career.

Lost okposo basically too. Minus the roster spot and minutes. And the 6th skater , when the goalie is pulled.

Okposo put the "O" in LOG.

thought that line had a good 2019 season. 👊

I'd say that's a fair assessment.
We switched picks too, and they took keith tkachuk.

Probably should have used the huge hands for goal scoring . (Shout out flaccoville)

Basically spent 1/2 a season in the penalty box.

See my note above.
Boss has an agenda to pump Risto, Olo and Girgs while hating on Sam.

Clearly they don't miss them as Lazar, Sheahan, Reider fill that gap and are out producing their legendary 5v5 scoring, lol.

Anyone who pays attention, not just watches can see the issues
