you literally said he could have won the hart last year if ullmark made a few more saves

again homer post

when guys get 30% more points then you, your not getting the hart

- homiedclown

Sure, and Eichel would have had 30% more points too if he got to skate with McDavid for half a season at 5v5 and be on the PP with him.

How many points does Draisatil get centering the top line of the Sabres last year and how many does Eichel get as 1RW/2C of the Oilers ?

jack didn't have the number leon, nate, mcdavid, pastrnak or panarin had

such a homer post

he was 10th in scoring

leon had 32 more points in a shortened season

- homiedclown

Points are a bad measure of how good a player is.

Eichel was a top 5 player last year

McDavid was straight garbage defensively last year. He gave up everything he created offensively and then some

I wouldn’t go as far as saying he was a negative impact player, but he was atrocious defensively

Points just don’t tell you how good someone is.

Nah I don’t think that’s what it would be.

Or it could be more of the Jeff Carter trade

They got Voracek and Couturier out of it.

Calgary has some nice pieces to. I don't know how many pages back, but there was a trade suggestion made by a Calgary blogger that probably would make me think hard about it
Calgary: Eichel
Buffalo: Monahan Anderson Ruzicka Pelletier 1st and a 2nd.
Not saying I would do it, but those are some decent pieces

- Buff36

Get rid of Monahan in that trade and back fill with another prospect, i.e. Connor Zary.

Zary was included in it originally but I changed him with Ruzicka, the kid is already rocking in the AHL and looks to be a 6'4" stud center. And Monahan makes the cap work for them.

But that's the thing - lots of teams will have "nice pieces". You don't trade your franchise center for "nice pieces". We got a couple of "nice pieces" (or so rated at the time) for ROR. Even if we got 6 or 8 "nice pieces" we still would have lost.

Of course, 'nice pieces' are lottery tickets. Sometimes they turn into Tage Thompson, other times they turn into Michael Peca. No nice pieces - the return would have to be mind-blowing.

9-2 Pens.

ERod with 2 G's, 4 A's and a knockout punch to Dahlin, ending his season.

Krueger heard very plainly yelling for multiple Red Cards

Staal seen leaving the building during second intermission, and gets on greyhound bus destined for St. Paul.

Tonight's lines : (barf) :

Hall Sheahan Reinhart
Olofsson Staal Rieder
Skinner Lazar Mittelstadt
Thompson Eakin Okposo

Not much that you can do with that pile of crap, but here's what I'd do :

Hall Staal Skinner (not bad)
Olofsson Mittelstadt Reinhart (I like it, not bad)
Thompson Lazar Rieder (barf)
Eakin Sheahan Okposo (doublebarf)

I see.
I just dont want Cap dumps back...they can dump him on another team and recoup some value there.
I used to love Monahan, but he isn't what this team needs, nor should want.

And when Jack says he wants to be traded when his NMC clause kicks in and he now has leverage, what is your plan?
Bend over?

If we don't get multiple grade A prospects back he can pout all he wants. Winning will cure everything, if we can just get to it.

Staal isn't even a second line center anymore. Hey, I can't kill you for it - we might as well just throw the names in a hat. I don't think it will surprise anyone when the third line has the most chance.

You're neglecting to mention one small, tiny very important aspect of the Islanders 'blueprint', and his name is Matthew Barzal.

He was already on the Islanders and coming off an 85 point rookie season when Tavares left for the Leafs.

The Sabres would have nothing resembling that already on the team, which means you'd have to bring that back in a trade. Not somebody who might be that player someday. Somebody who already is that player.

Do you really trust Sabres management to make a deal that would bring back that kind of player in a quality return needed for Eichel?

- kingcong39

Excellent points.

I guess the main piece ( hughes, petterson, Brady, dach) would be the " barzal" in the equation

He had 85, but then brought 60 and 62.
Hopefully the trade return can put up low 60's.

And you definitely have a point about this group making the decision 🙄

Maybe but he could be used as a stepping stone and he's proven he can put up 60-70pts, even put up 82pts one year, those picks could be used to get even more pieces, as could Monahan he's only 26. Anderson is your Partner for Dahlin, we shouldn't be trading Jack, other things should be changed before that, but if it came down to it, you would have to consider that offer and use it as leverage to get hopefully something better or take it and try to make that offer better.
