"Sheltered" might be the wrong word. Clearly he is a bit lost. What is odd to me is that Bryson and Montour are attacking a lot in the neutral zone, just like Dahlin used to. What has he been told?

OK, that's coaching him the wrong way, but he's not being sheltered, per se, with regard to the situations he's being put in.

Ralph has to go. He's turned our offensive players into Girgensons's.

I'd bet the BBQ master would have Dahlin on his toes again, instead of his heels.

That should be the next frontier for Bettman to pursue...get rid of guaranteed contracts..leave teams to negotiate guaranteed monies like the NFL does, as well as restructuring contracts. It is ridiculous to have guarantees at age 32 for 3, 4 more years. All UFA contracts should not be guaranteed..it terms out with reaching UFA status.
IMO of course.

- IonSabres

The NHLPA would strike for half a decade straight before thinking of caving in on guaranteed contracts.

Good luck to Bettman or anyone on getting rid of that.

But he's not.

His D zone starts are up and his O zone starts are down.

His giveaway % is also (unbelievably) down.

To me, when you look at guys like Byram, Hughes, Makar, guys of that ilk, they ATTACK the game. Dahlin looks like he has zero confidence to do that. He's also way too nonchalant w the puck, and that has to change.

- Powerslave

Good post :
Yes, absolute lack of confidence for dahlin.

Stuck in a rut.

Passive by nature, difficult to get that spark going.

I've been waiting for him to hammer a few people.
Drilled someone late vs. Philadelphia.

Get angry, like when pakar hit him in training camp.

I want to see more Borgen with him before going out of your way to bring a guy in. But I agree with the premise.
- TheSabresTaco

And that window to get extended benefit from that plan may be partially closed. So I agree. More Borgen! Let’s see Dahlin Borgen as soon as he can get back.

That’s if Ralph let’s him...

My daughter loves those Little People figures.. stepped on one of those bad boys the other day, kicked it and took a chunk out of the wall.

What's a weekend without a home improvement project, am I right

I like Teddy Nolan is the cole slaw.

Rightfully overlooked, a hearty but bland item that could never be more than a side order.

I just noticed the shades on BBQB and it's absolutely fantastic that the picture of him fades left and the glasses fade right

Mitts has looked really good the last few games. No reason to move him now unless the return was really good.

Heh.. eh, just like stubbing your toe, you go from "my foot is about to fall off of my leg" to 'fine' in about 2 minutes.

The spackle takes much longer, but the initial satisfaction of the kick is guaranteed.

This is the same thing that happened with Myers.

Take a guy that has unlimited offesnive potential and destroy him because defense.

Headman grew natually.

Let Dahlin be Karlsson. I could live with lapses in defense if it means hes putting up points in bunches.

Dahlin will learn defense naturally. let that happen.

I hate this team so god damn much

Taylor Hall leads the league in high danger passes per 60. Imagine if his linemates had the ability to score an actual goal.

Jeff Skinner, while in Carolina and first season in Buffalo, absolutely killed it with offensive metrics but suffered defensively.

Ralph has turned goal scoring Jeff Skinner into another abomination, able to play defense but useless offensively.

(frank) goal scoring, principles are the spice of life.
