Just to expand on this:

ROR hated Buffalo so much that he stuck around for a week after he was traded and attended a Band of Horses concert at Town Ballroom and took time out to talk to my sister about how much he liked being here and that we were in good hands with Eichel.

The entire narrative was always bullpoop

- jcragcrumple

So can anyone answer why we didn’t get Selke, MVP PPG ROR here?

Are we gonna blame Scott Wilson his 5th most common linemate one season?

The dude was fantastic his first season and then decided to be an average second line center for two seasons until he got what he wanted

Per source, Buffalo Sabres centre Eric Staal is open to a move to a contender and the expectation is a deal will occur before the April 12 trade deadline.

Shocker!

Translation: Get me the fvck out of here. NOW!!

"Kevyn, tomorrow at Noon I plan to hold a Presser in which I will state that since coming to Buffalo and playing within this rudderless organization apparently run by a waitress and coached by a soccer executive; that I have lost the love for the game."

Doesn’t mean everyone gets the Golf channel though
It’s NOT included in the basic cable packages in Buffalo for example- gotta pay extra

- jdfitz77

It's on the tier just above basic. More people get the Golf Channel than NBCSN.

ROR was always good here. People were just busy talking about how his back was broken and he skipped mass on Easter while butt chugging Jameson

The ineptitude that permeates this organization sucked the life essence from him. He then told the media that he was dead inside.

The bolded also deserves this disclaimer: It's known that Botterill was shopping him at the TDL that year independent of what ROR wanted.

Not true

I have the silver package, which is 1 step up
NBCsports comes with it
Golf channel does not

Must be different in the city than in the suburbs then.

Both NBCSN and Golf Channel are on Silver.

https://www.spectrum.com/cable-tv/channel-lineup

I was wrong though because now NBCSN is on basic. Hadn't really checked in a long time.

Maybe?

I suppose packages could have changed too depending on when u signed up

For example:
My dad recently went back to cable, & he has th silver package but gets NFL & i think GOLF as well
He also gets NBCsports though

I only get NBCsports out of those 3 though

Love your hypocrisy

U ask why I’m still talking about ROR,
but you can’t stop

At least i was trying to relate it to make a current point about what to do with Eichel

Keep moving those goalposts though
U obviously don’t have a good response, so u threw out this garbage instead

Good, yes. Borderline great like he has been for St. Louis? Not even close.

He did the same to Colorado. Signed an offer sheet and forced his way out of town, then forced his way out of town again once he realized Jack was the guy.

And for the bolded. That was never reported. It was reported they were "taking calls" on him.

It's almost like St. Louis had a better roster that allowed him to flourish and put him in a position to succeed

In other words, he's a guy you build with, not build around. The price Buffalo paid for him was what I would expect them to pay for a guy to be built around.

He played 20 min a night here, PP1 with Eichel, and his most common linemates were Sam Reinhart and Evander Kane.

It wasn't just his raw numbers that improved, his individual on ice impacts skyrocketed

He dogged it here until he got traded.

The Sabres did neither. They opened up that season with Reinhart centering Pouliot and Griffith.

Risto and Scandalous were the top pair.

Girgensons and Pominville were on the top line

Neither of them has played 1 game in the NHL since
Griffith back to the AHL
Pouliot couldn’t find a team in ANY league- and (amazingly) there were some here who wanted to bring him back

Was always weird to me that Sam was never given another shot at Center
