He wanted to be traded.

It's amazing we are still talking about him.

Do you know what fan base never talks about him? The Avalanche. The other team that traded him for pretty much nothing.

There’s a parallel between what happened with ROR then,
and what’s happening with Jack now

Honest question: Do you really believe he can here at this point?

I don't.

- 3rd GM's the charm

Yes of course I do. When he's healthy, he's a top 10 player in the league. The rest is narrative. Here's my comparison: peyton Manning didn't win poop for a long time and is an bumhole. He was also good. I have no idea if Eichel is an bumhole and I don't care. He probably is. He's also hurt and trying to play through it.

Either he plays hurt and sucks and people say "omg, look, he's so lazy" or he sits out because he's hurt and it's "omg sandy vagina"

So when he posts a 110 point season and wins a cup elsewhere when he's healthy we all look like idiots again

Could be, but tell me who is playing Wing with ROR, I mean we have so many top notch wingers.
- Buff36

Olofsson probably still with Jack,
So Hall & Reinhart or whoever we’d have drafted instead of Cozens possibly

Regardless, 2nd line wingers are easier to find then great 2Cs are though

Hard to look like an idiot again when you never stopped looking like an idiot to begin with.

By virtue of your argument, none of know, he could have been asking out of Buffalo and you are also missing the point.

This board is all about conjecture.

Sit Eichel until he is completely healthy - going nowhere this year.
Evaluate the team after the season - going nowhere this year.
Trade Hall at the deadline - don't retain salary and get what you can.
Bring up every young gun (And UPL) and let's see what they have.
Make Okposo sit - he is going nowhere for the rest of his contract.
First PP and more minutes for Skinner - maybe he goes somewhere.
Second PP for Mittelstadt and get him more minutes.

Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results, therefore, upper management has to check the ego and get out of the way. Redo it and get "a Brendan Shanahan" to run the show.

- TC4145

Sure, it’s possible he was asking out
I’ve never said that wasn’t a possibility
I have never claimed to KNOW what he was thinking
That’s the difference

My point was,
we need to stop trading away our good players
Don’t make the same mistake with Jack as we did with ROR
Just bc a guy asks to be traded, doesn’t mean we have to do it

I agree with a lot of your ideas moving forward
Most make sense to me

This is O'reilly's THIRD season not in Buffalo. SHUT THE FRANK UP ALREADY. He female dogged more than Eichel does.

What do you think his price tag will be compared to Milano? I think he’s a perfect fit for McBean and being older, he should come in cheaper... I take that swing all day!

Lots of interesting names as far as pass rushers go too
I don’t think Tampa can afford David & Barrett now that they franchised Godwin
I’d like either of those guys from Tampa

Bud Dupree is interesting as well (if healthy)

Just not having Skinner gives us all the room we needed for ROR
Olofsson-Eichel-Reinhart
Hall-ROR-whoever we’d have drafted instead of Cozens

But even if we had Skinner too:
No Staal
No Eakin, Girgs, Tage, etc

It’s more than doable

Make tage captain tonight.

Wonder if his impressive size allows him to present himself more high danger chances.

Curious how Jeffery skinner is doing in high danger chances.

Realistically the 3 points between tage and skimmer, should have boosted us into a playoff spot.

Olofsson is a joke. 17 points , mostly in non danger and power play situations.

U keep moving the goalposts

ROR would fit under the Cap with Hall
And the organization is proving to fit Skinner & Hall,
so there’s no reason to think they couldn’t have fit O’Reilly & Hall

And I’m sure the Sabres would choose Skinner over the scrubs we’d need to do without for him to fit as well
But even if they couldn’t fit Skinner,
I’d bet A LOT of ppl would think that’s a good thing
