I can't imagine us getting that for him, especially if he has say over where he is going. Also, the pool of teams that could get him is somewhat limited due to quarantine.

You may see more trades 2 weeks leading up to the deadline, because of quarantine

I dont care if they keep Hall, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's moved to a good team with a good system and suddenly, magically his step is back
- jcragcrumple

So many times, we come on here and say "x player is soo good, look at his stats playing for team x! Trade for player x!"

And little do we think about what it might be like for that player to assimilate to a different team and different coach.

Ralph has devalued almost every player on this team except for Jake McCabe. Ristolainen showing that he needed McCabe to be successful.

Phil Housley didn't have the horses that Ralph had, and his team was better. and so were his stars. Go look at Dahlin's impacts from Housley and Krueger. Holy (frank).

Analytics should be used, but time and time again they are proven not be the end all, be all. Analytics describe what a player may be capable of. It's up to the coach and GM to acquire players and to use the skills in which that player is the best at, and fit him with other players that compliment each other.

Ralph, though, sets a system and tries to put legos, k'nex, mega bloks and erector sets together to build some abomination held together with (frank)ing playdoh.

Go (frank) yourself, Ralph.

right?...just for the tear-down...if i were an experienced gm and saw kevyn adams, ralph, president kim and the unmitigated dysfunction on the other side, i'd be licking my chops...not expecting core-like returns, but it'd surely be better than the chopped liver ka/rk and co would get

It's funny you should say that - the other day I saw a post on twitter that showed how Darcy's last couple of drafts were worlds better than anything that has happened since. Yeah, it's been that bad.

I will also follow up with, I’ve liked Bryson so far. Borgen might be able to play. Ullmark was settling in... Some of the kids are looking ok. We just need a better coaching staff... no more Ralph and Smith can go too.

Ok, but aren't those chores the duties of the GM?
I guess I view the PoHO as more the Strategy guy to establish the Vision, set the overall direction of the team, create the structure of the Hockey Ops depts , and be the primary interface to Ownership. His management team then executes the Tactics to achieve the Strategic Vision.

He checks many of the boxes.

I've done this breakdown a few times. Take a look at his drafts between 2005 and 2013. Everything is a sad (frank)ing panda. Botterill's 2017 class is just starting to show, probably too early for the rest. Murray('s staff) picked Borgen and Olofsson, Nylander who got us Joker and.. Lemieux exists, I guess. I'm leaving off the top picks.

Between 2012 and 2013, Darcy made a few good picks. Ullmark, McCabe, Compher, Petersen.. Girgensons? .. Armia in 2011. McNabb and Foligno in 2009. Ennis and Myers in 2008.

Problem is none of these guys have drafted real difference makers. Probably since Pominville, outside the top 2 picks.

Maybe Mittelstadt comes along. We've got Cozens. Borgen and Bryson look like something. UPL and Portillo could be. Johnson, Samuelsson and Pekar could also be.

I think if Botterill worked under Darcy, we'd have a very good organization.

i think darcy's vision of team-building would center around exactly what he had post-drury/briere, and basically what we have now--a collection of individual talent that lacks the intestinal fortitude to overcome obstacles...most on those teams, and this one, just don't have it in them...

if you also recall, one of his most aggravatingly mind-numbing nods to structure involved not making any major in-season roster changes and instead, opting for the off season when it was, obviously, way too late

He wouldn't be my first choice, but I do wonder how many good and experienced executives would even consider Buffalo now because of their 10 year history of changing strategies on a dime.
Would need to be lucrative to make it worthwhile I would imagine.

We need better coaching, a person who is willing to change there systems to there player's. It seems we always have a disconnect between GM and coaching with players and how they play.

I'd rather meet for a brewski after the pandemic ☝️🍺

I'm still probably going, I spoke with my ticket manager this weekend.

Part of me want's to show the Sabres enough is enough

Part of me really likes going to the games and would like to be "guy during pandemic that went to both Bill's and Sabres games" - safely

Throwing an erod Jersey, may send a confusing message to kim. She may think I want them to resign him....🤔

Depends on your view ....

Olofsson pick 179 in the 7th round = 17 points this season. Which is really like 34 points in a different system.
