We’ve had moderate success at this but our depth at the NHL level has been so poor, we’ve ruined most of our potential talent by rushing them and setting them up for failure. We need a real NHL team so we can have a real farm team
- lulags

I do not see our depth at the nhl level being poor

vesey and simmonds already have 5 goals for the leafs this year, simmonds in only 11 games

sheary has 5 goals for the caps

bogo is a plus 4 for the leafs

scandella is plus 13 for 29 games as a blue

hell larsson has more goals for the yotes this season then eichel has for the sabres

the only guy playing worse is johansson for the wild

it's all about coaching and motivation because once they are gone, they are useful nhl players

I agree, but since the bloodletting of TM we really haven't had a farm system, with his trades we basically had nothing, and instead of filling spots with younger players more assets and cap had to be used to fill spots with marginal players that should have been for youngins. Are prospect pool is just starting to get healthy again. They just can't seem to find the right pieces to finish the puzzle.

I didn’t want to let Vesey go. Stupid move. He was playing well for us. Bogo just got healthy but didn’t get any minutes and seemed pissed about it. I don’t think Simmonds would have stayed but I could be wrong. Even Scandella is playing well.
There was no real reason to let Larry go.
Good depth player for cheap.
The list could go on for days. We’ve made the worst moves as an organization in the past 10 years of any major sport hands down

It never ceases to amaze me how people glom on to these ideas. Another post listed all of the sandpaper players that we had but we sucked when we had them. Did you see who is beating the tar out of us? It isn't a matter of being gritty or not. The isles have almost no 'grit' - they just skate circles around us. Get skilled players with a good coach and nobody will talk about this nonsense anymore.

New CDC Study shows masks do nothing. No change in infection rate. Don't attack me because your masters lied to you.

https://twitter.com/Break...68305015153164288/photo/1

Mask mandates decreased death rates by around 1% over a one month period, according to the study

That means if 100 people die without masks 99 die with masks.

Although all results lie within margin of error meaning they are the same.

This is a CDC study not a right wing quack study. Maybe Biden should switch to 3 or 4 masks instead of 2 then?

It could have something to do with when I am at Walmart I see people adjusting their mask and touching their face 5-10 times while they are their.

Can count probably 5 gritty players on the Islanders, but will agree with better coaching.

We need are youngins to keep growing, some of them are playing good in Rochester. Samuelsson had a good game last night, Laaksonen is playing well and Jones has been a surprise. Rusto had a goal last night and Quinn picked up a point. It's a matter of filling in the boxes around the talent and the Sabres haven't done well with that.
- Buff36

Agree on youngins...some kids who hopefully continue to develop. Move them all down to Rochester to keep them away from this poop show led by a Coaching staff that is literally destroying careers.

Disagree wholeheartedly on just filling in the boxes is all that is needed.
As discussed ad nauseam here, the Management Structure and Personnel must change.

The Pegula's constantly deviating from 3 - 5 year plans is at the heart of what's wrong. Hired Patty LaLa based on Sabre history, not his plan. Sped up Murray's and Bott's Plan timelines, each with different approaches. Cheeped out on ROR Bonus that directly impacted return. Their arrogance in doing the same BS over and over again thinking they are smarter than everyone else. Their fanboy/girl approach with certain players.

Now with being enamoured by Ralph's eloquence is threatening the long-term stability of the franchise. Players and Executives around the league have and are taking notice of the complete poop show this franchise is ... I think that limits the pool of candidates going forward, to what degree is debateable.

Are the Pegula's smart enough to recognize the the Titanic is sinking, or are they arrogant enough to ignore the hole in the haul and focus on rearranging the deck chairs and changing the song the band is playing?

When we go anywhere, we wear N95's and another "regular" mask on top of that. When we go out, we see TONS of people wearing crappy, flimsy masks, if any at all. And many times, we see people "wearing" a mask...on their chins. Or with their nose uncovered (why even bother wearing one if your nose it out ???). Oh, and the bandana mask ? Ridiculous. Might as well wear nothing if you're a bandana mask-wearer.

If everyone in mandated mask areas doubled up their masks, or wore an N95, or at the very least, wore their crappy flimsy mask properly we'd see better numbers. It's maddening when we see a guy walking around Wegmans with his nose out. Sure, he's "wearing a mask", but not properly. Businesses should put up signs that say "Masks are mandatory, and they must cover your mouth AND nose. Should you not comply, you will be shown out the door" ... something like that. I also believe that (properly worn) masks should have been mandatory here in the US from day 1. If it can be logistically possible, hand out fines for offenders.

In Ontario, stores do have signs that properly worn masks are required. Hand sanitizer stations at all stores too. The only people who don’t like masks are the Mennonite church in Aylmer and the doofuses that buy into conspiracy memes on Facebook.

I am not just talking about hitting, grit is more than that, it's going to the net and taking a beating, it's winning board battles, it's stepping out of your comfort zone and doing what it takes.

Bravo!
I wear a mask, not because I believe in it, but because it reduces the stress in others...small price for me to pay for the mental comfort of others in s stressful time.

I am interested in the leadership and the masses who demand strict adherence to the "follow science" mantra. MSM will bury it though...move along here...nothing to see...make sure to mask up!

I love the drivers who wear a mask when they are the only ones in the car.
Hilarious.
