with the bills, both the gm and coach were young though and spent many years in carolina training to be a head coach and gm one day

with the sabres

disco sucks was a retread
phil, even though he was a rookie nhl coach, was not young
ralph is pretty old and was removed from the nhl for an extended period of time

cooper was in his mid 40s when the bolts hired him
deboer was in his early 40's when he started to coach
bednar in his mid 40s
brindamour in his upper 40s
keefe upper 30s

maybe the best way to deal with younger rosters is a younger coach

- homiedclown

Excellent points

The belief was krueger would move upstairs and bring someone along for that exact continuity.

Gmka is a trustworthy cheap friendly face.

They need stability
They need a new coach again
They need a young coach
They need an experienced coach
They need to keep people in place

What are they losing fan base wise between now and next season? 10% of an arena in ticket sales?

Is Ralph and the hate costing them any $? Hiring and firing will.

- Boss34

I have never seen their social media pages get ripped like this season

nothing remotely close

They need real hockey people in charge and they need to get the (frank) out of the way

Terry and Kim are not real hockey people. It's simple

you are who you are after 2 years in a franchise

if you know after 2 years, he is not your guy, move on

continuity is only good when winning IMO

we are wasting the eichel years with poor choices as gm's and head coaches picked by the owners

- homiedclown

It hasn't been 2 years. Less than 100 nhl games.

I'm not somehow defending Krueger, I draw the line at okposo lubing terry. ☝️

😀 this is excellent 👍

Schucks, Pegula's are just lucky with the Bill's and completely inept with the Sabres. Makes sense.

Why would they ever try to hire rookie coaches and gms?
Especially after failing with mcbeane?

- Boss34

They are well-intentioned rubes who lucked into McBeane. They treat any outside criticism like 3rd world dictators. Everyone is out to get them. They know better - Kim is quick to tell you that

Top 13 is now the cutoff for tanking?
La never had the feel of "losing on purpose"

Same for the penguins. Remember those year's?
Exactly.

Broads brought up a good point with the lemieux tank.

The mceichel tank arguably made the league look worse than any tank since lemieux. Most people didnt even know what tanking was, until they were introduced to mike weber.

- Boss34

It's not like tanking is a strange sight to people. It's much worse outside the NHL.

if people are not going to watch the sabres from their couch

how can they expect people to come to the arena and watch it in person next year?

Having no team is the absolute worst scenario.

Ask browns fans.

This sucks, but it's time to move on from this core.

In retrospect, what do you expect from the hockey god's/ commissioners office when you lose on purpose.

Blatantly

You advertise trying to lose
You bring in the top 2 prospects to play here.

- Boss34

I don't know, ask the Pens, Oilers, and Leafs. The Pens got arguably the best hockey player ever, and then added the third best and won two Cups. The Oilers and Leafs, far from being world beaters, are in an infinitely better place than the Sabres.

Can you really see them going into next season with the same structure in place?

how about the Haas f1 team being investigated by WADA for the red white and blue color scheme on their cars for next year?

Yeah, that's one hell of an end-around the rules. And it's ugly as sin on top of it. Mercedes, Williams, Alpine, and Aston Martin all killed it, and Haas trots out that pile of sh¡t?

Maybe they should have promoted Taylor and sent Ralph upstairs? Instead of canning him in a cost savings move.

The Anaheim Ducks won't dress Nicolas Deslauriers on Friday night against the LA Kings.
This is now back-to-back games for Deslauriers in the press box. Danton Heinen will also be scratche

Yes, but has any team in any sport made it part of their advertising campaign? Made losing more blatantly obvious? Sabres rubbed this in Gary Bettmans face.

Andrew luck with the colts seems to be a recent
Kinda remember lebron?

Colts didnt schedule a Stanford game and include it in the season ticket package....

I was all for the tank. Loved it. Enjoyed watching my childhood team lose, in person. 😐

Upgraded my seats for mceichel

So now you don’t like Russ Brandon doing marketing things to drive tickets sales. But it’s ok when he sells a buffalo home game to Toronto?!?

Ok, but Deslauriers a is a 4th liner who should play less than 10min a night- so i wouldn’t expect much

I’d much rather have guys like the Tkachuk bros. who are “tough to play against” AND are actually good at hockey too
