No. It wont. Scoring goals, Playing with speed and having a crazy good offense will.

Vegas is crazy fast. If you remove Ryan Reeves from Vegas, they are still good. When Reeves is on the ice, Vegas is actually a worse team and the other team controls play. There is a reason he only plays about 6-7 minutes a night.

I see the words "highly skilled/talented" have now been replaced by the word "speed" since the little experiment of adding skill to the roster has failed miserably.

Eichel, Skinner, Hall, Cozens, Reider, Joker, Montour, Dahlin etc are all speedy enough. But they play "small" and soft , and the coach is beating the tar out of them to play within his system that slows the game speed down to a crawl...they are afraid to attack for fear of being caught out of position.

It is all in front of us to see it being played out on a nightly basis.
Put Johnny hockey and McDavid with this coach and his system and they too will be "too slow".

I actually thought Montour played pretty well yesterday in terms of creating chances. Probably means he'll sit in favor of Irwin tomorrow

How do we know anyone is soft? People keep saying it... what does it mean? We're in a crappy system designed by a guy who is not an expert in the game. I don't know how we can make any sweeping judgements about anything or anyone. This is a league built on speed now - hitting isn't it what it was 20 years ago. I don't watch us lose and think its because we are soft.

Imo Brady is a mega star , a step above matt.

I think both of those trades work.

Hall, risto, and the higher or 2 (ottawa or buffalo ) picks

-clearly I've been a risto fan, I think he has tremendous value. 2 playoff run's if they acquire him now.

I don't think anyone is debating that you need to score goals.

They're also a soft, fragile, gutless team. Did you actually watch the reaction to that kid challenging Dahlin the other afternoon?

Because there was none.

This team, scoring or not, would get steamrolled if they managed to make the playoffs.

Because they're NOT a team.

No no no! BOTH the Tkachuk brothers! Jack to Ottawa for that Tkachuk ++ and then a package to the flames for the other Tkachuk....

If not figuring out how to net both Tkachuks then, it starts with Byfield ++.

Rangers can pound sand, use em to drive up the cost, they don’t have anything I like.

And of course this is only barely a pipe dream if the upper management and/or ownership of the team changes.

If no change in either, get ready for Logan Brown.

We score fewer goals than when Matt D'Agostini was on the team and Cody Hodgson led the team the Sabres with 42 points. Think about that.

Race horses playing clydesdales.... towing a 30’ motor home with a corvette.... asking Schwarzenegger in his prime time swim like phelps.... or would that be, asking phelps to win body building contests?

Soft = watch anything Tage does. That’s soft. And he keeps getting opportunities to play.

Soft = other than Sam, who’s really getting in front of the net. Saw it a bit last night for the first time in forever.

Soft= Who’s winning the battles down low...it’s not buffalo.

Soft= not doing what it takes to win/ unwilling to play out of character once in a while when the situation calls for it, etc

And yes, if that means putting a guy through a wall once in a while instead of doing the "drive by".
