The guy that is going to the HOF?
- ImThatGuy

He wasn't a superstar while he was here, he was a TE that we switched to tackle and groomed.

Yea, he was really good here.
He wanted to get paid like the elite talent he was. I remember it like yesterday. I was on a Buffalo Bills board that may or may not start with two. Fans were calling him lazy not worth it, all the guy cares about is money etc

Risto aside, because he has his flaws, when is the last time a soft team won the Cup?

Ok so he wanted to get paid or traded. Usually if you sit out in the NFL you most likely are getting traded.

Stretch to say we ran him out of buffalo. Wanted a new contract 2 years after he signed a 5 year contract

When was the last time that someone that couldn't score more goals than the other team won the cup? Score more goals and everything (synergy, toughness, happiness, etc) looks better. I have no idea if this team is tough or not but I do know that they can't score goals and therefor can't win.

The younger crowd isnt blue collar, but i bet many of the posters have parents/ grandparents that worked at Bethlehem steel ect. They Were still raised blue collar.

There's definitely blue collar in the fan's. although I agree buffalo "the city" is more tech now adays.

Check out the Bill's mafia, that's uniquely hard core.
Dare I say "bluecollarer" than other fans?

- Boss34

Buffalo a tech city hahahahahaha

I don't think anyone is debating that you need to score goals.

They're also a soft, fragile, gutless team. Did you actually watch the reaction to that kid challenging Dahlin the other afternoon?

Because there was none.

This team, scoring or not, would get steamrolled if they managed to make the playoffs.

Because they're NOT a team.

Prolly the Kings. Relied on Quick and played real shut down style. Of course I meant couldn’t score goals, not less then the other teams as that’s not possible. But they were 29th in GF that year

IM not debating that

What blows my mind is this

EIchel for Tom WIlson
Dahlin for What i assume is a tough rugged D-man

But keep Risto who I believe holds a record for having the worst +/- in the NHL.

F**** it i guess.

Trade all the good players for guys that will fight. The Sabres will be an even bigger joke.

This, but IMO this has nothing to do with toughness.

The team from the top down just doesnt care.

All I ask is that when the Pegulas make a horrible trade that will inevitably blow up in their face, they need to ask for the smallest prospect available on the other team. That way we can have the tall spinning idiot from the terrific ROR trade and a funny little 5'2" hopping idiot from the Eichel trade. We can call them laurel and hardy

If someone actually suggested this SERIOUSLY, then don't bother even debating w them.

I think most of us can agree that you need a very skilled lineup w some grit (and if a couple players bring both, you've hit the jackpot) to win when it counts.

Like someone said earlier, players playing out of character helps, too.

The point is that it's a better to want to improve by scoring more goals than it is to want to add the other stuff that isn't related to goal scoring.
