I don't care who it is. They need someone from outside the organization making the calls and hires from the top. I've never been married to the idea of a President of Hockey Operations idea. I'm not adamantly opposed to it, either, but you can point to teams who have been successful using both models. However, the Pegulas are in a deep hole, and all they do is keep digging. Every decision they make is the wrong one. The only way to stop that is to stop making the decisions.

If it turns out to be Gillis, fine. I'm not concerned about quotes that make a fanbase feel good about itself for the next five minutes. I care about results. His track record when it comes to result is mixed. His resume (mainly in Vancouver) was okay but not spectacular, especially when you consider what he had to work with (i.e. a lot). It's not enough to make me dismiss the idea, but it's not enough to make me say "get him at any cost" either. The most important part is that someone other than the Pegulas make decision from the top down.

Tortorella's bombastic nature always ends up rubbing people the wrong way, and so his shelf life always has an expiration date. He gets short-term results, but eventually, you get to a point where you realize he has got his team as far as he can take him.

Krueger has the opposite personality. He's very good at making people like him. He's going to stick around far longer than he should.

what is even worse

"On the one hand, Krueger has not had a complete 82-game season as coach of this team. On the other hand, the 36-41-11 mark the Sabres have recorded in his 88 games behind the bench since taking over last season is a big enough sample size to realize that Krueger’s message, whatever it may be, is most definitely not getting through."

if you remove the first 12 games of last season

ralph's record is 27-39-10

64 points in 86 games

a handful of points more then when we tanked for eichel and a worse record then when we tanked for dahlin

Bring in the Sabres Hockeybuzz community to run the team. I want us all to sit around a huge, round table, slug down Mug rootbeer, eat celery, wear our top hats, and talk about why guys need to go because they don't sign hats and have bad xG.

Not sure, but we would definitely have to get over it since a certain political candidate lost.

Is that a surprise? DeSantis is trying to get Florida open as quickly as possible.
