Eichel for Byfield, Bjornfot, 1st
Reinhart for Canucks 1st
Hall for a 1st
Risto, Miller, Mountor for random picks
Skinner and picks to the Kraken.

I don't wanna trade Eichel, but that would least be a decent start for a rebuild.

That's a really good list. I also HATE trading Eichel but it seems based on what Dreger said yesterday then when you put it all together it is a foregone conclusion. It really sucks.

I am assuming that this was posted last night. All these fans think that they are going to get Jack for a package of decent prospects.

Im not saying anything new here but it is comical that every teams fan base is saying

"We want Eichel but these 5 players are untouchable"

Comical.

We CANT trade him. we CANT.

But...lol....if they do, I think the Rangers and the Kings fit.

Kakko, Chytil, a goalie and their first??

Step 1...
Byfield in a package

Or

B. Tachuck in a package

Use the rangers to drive up the price.

Step 2...
Put a package together to pry m. Tachuck from the flames.

Of course none of this is remotely possible with Ralph or pegs or Adams involved at all. If they are involved it will be Tage Thompson 2.0 ++ extra garbage.

If the management structure is not changed. If there isn’t a Gillis type at the top, hiring a gm and coach, who are all on the same page. While pegs watches from the yacht, takes the occasional phone call and woos some players with the jet.

Nothing this team does, nothing, with Kim as president, Adams as “gm” and Ralph involved at all. Nothing in this type of structure will ever be successful. Ever. Clone Gretzky, Mario, Dom, Lindstrom in their prime, put them on the Sabres roster and this management group will still monkey hump a hockey puck on a zamboni with Tage Thompson driving....

The reason I don't like the Tkachuk idea is that we desperately need centers.

Chytil and Byfield are centers. Tkachuk does nothing for me.

Bring me the Gillis.

Let me edit this with... if there was ever an opportunity and organization to try Gillis’s approach with, it is the Buffalo Sabres. 10 years of crap, horrible culture, but at least a foundation of amenities (harbor center) to build upon. Toss him the keys and let him run!

I would not WANT to trade Eichel, and I don't believe this assortment of Front Office personnel have the first clue on a) what would be adequate value, and b) know the proper evaluation of the proposed assets coming back.
I believe 89 when he says they (my words: brainless-trust) are NOT considering it currently.

It all comes down to whether the brainless-trust has the proper read on whether Eichel will soon ask for a trade. If they feel he's done here and that ask is coming, then they need to get out in front of it...for if they read it wrong and his NTC kicks in...then as many others have said...they are duly fvcked.

Considering that Richel is an elite, top 5 1C, any organization that secures him (save a few really bad ones) the value of future draft picks must be discounted to reflect the likelihood of them being very late in the draft order.

Lastly, IMO they absolutely cannot take any bad contracts back...none, full stop. Therefore, a trade should be timed for the offseason to enable teams to clear CAP space through other means, if necessary for them.

The proper action, IMO is to:
A) fire Krueger outright (apparently not happening)
B) eat several pans of humble pie in hiring a very experienced President (not just of Hpckey Ops, but to replace the fvcked-up Pegula's)
C) hire an experienced GM and have Adam's as his Asst/Assoc
D) hire a proven coach who has successfully coached a young roster

Until A through D are done...just be glad you have a team...or adopt a 2nd team to route for.

I don't care who it is. They need someone from outside the organization making the calls and hires from the top. I've never been married to the idea of a President of Hockey Operations idea. I'm not adamantly opposed to it, either, but you can point to teams who have been successful using both models. However, the Pegulas are in a deep hole, and all they do is keep digging. Every decision they make is the wrong one. The only way to stop that is to stop making the decisions.
