as god is my witness

I honestly thought he would get more then 2 periods on the top line

- homiedclown

Well you did say “as long as he stays in the top9”
And he did have more than 2periods on the top line- it was a few games
Regardless, he was given another chance to succeed & blew it horribly

Also,
my comment wasn’t directed specifically at you
There were MANY idiots here that liked that terrible trade & thought Tage would be good

how can he have any when, on top of skinner and the implosion, his coach was caught in a lie concerning his injury

I don't think I'm missing the point here at all. I'm just looking at it from the opposite side. RoR was paid 1m above his cap hit that year, and then 1.5m below for the next 4. If that limited interest and prevented deals, that say a lot about his value at the time. 1 year later, 20 teams would be calling and no one would mention the 5m bonus.

This is all coming up because of Jack. He doesn't have this kind of baggage. Almost every team in the league is making a call if he becomes available.

It is widely known that Ari has had cash flow problems. Many others as well. Keeping the bottom line near or at even is some of the purgatives of NHL owners. Anaheim has worked with an internal cap for a while. Are you really trying to say that is not that case when it very clearly is for a number of teams publicly, and probably many more privately?

There is video of an ROR deal with Ari for Domi + if we paid the bonus. At the time, Domi himself was worth more then the package we got, which was a protected first (top 10), Tall Tage, and a second with cap back to us in the form of suck. Perhaps Johnson turns into the real deal (I've been higher on him then most after watching him in the USHL) but still at the time Domi was better then that package by himself.

Thought it was a stupid trade for TM to even make the trade to acquire ROR, we weren't ready, last year would have been perfect.

I liked the trades for O’Reilly & Kane
Probables was that ALL the moves GMTM made with our defense were utter disasters
Those guys couldn’t get the puck up ice to our forwards

Like this isn't even arguable. Paying someone 7.5M in a one time payment is 100% a huge deal. And if they didn't want to pay that, that somehow means they didn't want the player is an absurd statement

Agreed. The intrigue was okay when it first opened, but once you've seen it, you've seen it. They did give great deals for the hockey leagues that played there though.

7 Million dollar bonus due on July 1.

It wasn't one year later, ROR wanted out. the Sabres took an awful offer when there were better offers on the table.
