-13 goal differential yet 15th in total goals allowed

2-7-2 at home

2nd worst goals for in the league

15 pts, tied for last place in the league, with Ottawa

3 goals between Eichel, Skinner, Okposo and Hall - That's 3 goals from an invested 33 MILLION dollars. 81.5 million dollar cap. 3/5 of your cap has accounted for 3 goals total.

But at least they fixed the uniforms.

This team keeps bringing in soft coaches with no experience and its not working so lets keep doing it.

- sabresfan69

Like Hamilton's article and many others have said, this is a small, soft team that doesn't compete. Who has a system to maximize that?

I am a bit surprised that homie the clown and that other poster think Hutton is not a problem and that goaltending hasn't been a problem.

These posters I guess are hoping Hutton gets resigned because if Hutton is not a problem why wouldn't you resign him.

I have watched the last 3 years momentum get killed time and time again with bad goals. I guess I pay attention more than most.

This team didn't score today because they already gave up, the team gave up long ago. Watch at the beginning of the season the players shoulders when Buffalo has all the momentum in a tied game and Ullmark or Hutton let in a bad goal.

Maybe I am wrong and maybe homie is right. Maybe Hutton is not a problem and should be resigned. I am surprised he would think that though.

Who else here thinks Hutton should be resigned because goaltending is not a problem, so far buff36 and Homie think Hutton hasn't been a problem for the sabres.

- sabresfan69

Maybe I’m the other poster because I don’t see goaltending as the problem right now with this team. Think about it. Why would any team bring in a goalie if your team can’t score. If you think the backup goalie is the problem for the teams lack of success I can’t help you. If your number one goalie can’t stay in the lineup due to injuries maybe that’s a reason to look for a number one. If your paying 3 guys 30 mil to score a combined 3 goals for your team and you bring in another goalie I’d say your GM days will end soon.

Goaltending isn't killing them right now, but Hutton + Johansson is a problem. JoJo simply shouldn't be playing NHL games and Hutton can't carry that kind of load.

scoreless last 2 games

but blame the goalie that stopped 36 of 39 yesterday

johansson stopped 35 of 38
lets put today's loss on him

- homiedclown

Dammit Hutton should have stopped 38, oh wait it wouldn't have mattered. Fix the coach and go from there.

I'm not sure if you played organized hockey at any level?
Not sure if matters either but:

When you show up and you know the goalie suck's or is the back up ( or the back up's , back up) , that's a tough way to start a season/ game...

Jack had to see this train wreck from the start.

And I agree, it's not the only problem, but it is a problem.

Then you play a little harder and try and help that player out, which this team has done none off.

Ok I agree with you. Johansson and Hutton are backups that won’t win you the Stanley Cup but and this is a big but Johansson wasn’t the problem today and Hutton isn’t the problem this year. The team probably wanted Ullmark to start 35 to 40 games this year which is very achievable. He’s hurt and will miss some time so backups will play and if they play like they have what is the problem. I did say if your number one goalie isn’t durable and can’t handle the heavy load then that’s where I would start. This team with the high priced talent up front should be scoring an avg of 3 goals per game easily. I can’t believe anyone would say the goalies are at fault. What the heck did they bring in these guys for when they could get a guy off the street to score 3 goals with Jack and do it for free.

Absolutely, real team's and captain's step up when the kid's in net.

This team should have started with:
1) a good goalie
2) ullmark
3) Hutton
4) Johansson

That’s one way. Another way is just to say (frank) it, we don’t have a chance. And after watching Ullmark be something for them to roll back to Hutton, even if he played decently well had to be a gut punch. They still haven’t gotten off the mat.

It's a fair point, but it's not like they were scoring with Ullmark in net. The psychology cuts both ways.

No real issue with anything you're saying. If I'm GMKA, I'm claiming Stalock. Convenient solution to a pressing problem.

Well played 🤝

I look back to Sam's comments a couple years ago about the goalie needing to step up. He then " clarified " the comments, but I think he spoke some truth.
* not judging Sam, I think he showed some leadership holding his teammates accountable.

Hutton was brought in for leadership. A career back up goalie.

Perhaps. When millions are put in front of you to play a game.. idk what to tell you. All I know is Ullmark goes down and suddenly 22 "pros" don't give a poop

And as soon as he does that 99% of the team take a big breath and say I knew I wasn’t the problem but in reality they are a big part of it. In my opinion it’s a bad move but I don’t have any say.

Ullmark was the only reason they were in the games so I suppose they figured they are fxcked if they have to start scoring 3 a game like they should.
