I would like to see Johansson, see what we got, atleast maybe he turns into a trade chip, or a suitable backup.
- Buff36

I think Dreger reported that he has always been available and will be a UFA at the end of the year because he hasn't played enough here. He had strong stretches in ROC over the last couple of years but it seems as though he looks terrible in camp every year.

Ullmark is a perfect example of what you mentioned. Didn’t turn into what he was until last season at 26. Goalies are just extremely unpredictable, hence why I’m a firm believer in drafting one every year. Might get the next Lundqvist

Hearing #mnwild may be placing goalie Alex Stalock on waivers today. He's working way back from upper body issue. If he clears, he'd be eligible for Iowa or taxi squad.

20 wins last season, so obviously Wild will hope he clears. #sabres do need a goalie, so could be interest

This is official. We'll know Monday at 11 a.m. CT if Stalock is claimed or assigned to Iowa to get him playing. Surprised Wild didn't give him a rehab stint there first, but maybe they hope not playing since the bubble gets him to slide through

- kingcong39

i'd make a claim on him

Sure but with the way goalies work, he doesn’t have the body of work to command a huge dollar anyways.

I don't know, I was reading yesterday after we lost and Krueger said he was going to have lineup changes today and players from Rochester were coming up. That's where I got that from, maybe he's just a moron.

Of course not. He may not even get an NHL contract. Would anyone be surprised if he just went back to Sweden?

I would think he’d stay if he was getting two way contracts still. Only 25 and chasing the dream

Brett Connolly has been put on waivers by the Florida Panthers.
Connolly logged a season-low 7:57 of ice time in Saturday's shootout loss to Carolina. He has one goal and two assists in 16 games this season. That's a far cry from the 19 markers and 33 points he generated over 69 games in 2019-20 during his first season with Florida. Connolly can be assigned to the taxi squad or to the minors if he clears.

“Connolly logged a season-low 7:57 of ice time in Saturday’s game”. He’s been a healthy scratch several games as Q tries different guys in the fourth line/bottom 6.

Going with that being true as I can't find the language in the CBA, you're still saving $3M the season after next.

I'd rather do that than give up a very high pick to save the entire cap hit.

I'd either buy him out after this season, or just ride out the remaining 2 years of his contract and navigate the cap as if he's either playing or buried in the AHL.

- kingcong39

I hear ya. I think it is an interesting conversation as there are valid points on both sides, IMO.

Your's is valid.

As is the point that if they moved him to Seattle say in the Expansion draft, they save $12m total Cap; $6m each for 2 seasons.
They also can invest that savings into a decent player who presumptively would contribute more.
Then they have use of that improvement for 2(+?) Years while the pick continues to develop...1yr Juniors, 1 yr AHL.

The best path as I have mentioned previously is to get Kyle to retire.

.@JFowlerESPN said on Sports Center the #Bills are still one of the teams being considered by JJ Watt who has narrowed his list down to 3-5 “serious contenders.” Said a decision is very likely next week & as long as he gets “market value” it’s more about winning a super bowl
