Our offense has been stifled all year
Want proof?
Look at Eichel

AGAIN.... it’s not JUST Hall

- jdfitz77

Unfortunately I get what your saying. Better goaltending allows a team to step out more and be more offensive. Either this is one poor defensive system or no one is listening.
This is it in a nutshell. This team plays a defensive system and gave up 39 shots. If that makes sense to you I can’t help.
This is not a young team but is sprinkled with young players gaining experience. Taylor Hall is not young and should be leading by example. That’s why they got him. He’s not producing and makes 8 mil. The top paid players on this team are offensive players that have struggled all this year so far. Eichel, Skinner and Hall should be scoring with any system and that is just a fact
You are stuck on bringing in another goalie who would somehow change reality. This team is offensively challenged so far this year. Unless this changes the good lord can’t help if he or she played net.

cozens
reinhart
casey
asplund
staal

one of those 5 is the only option

instead the coach picks the worst option on his roster

if you cant score 5 on 5

you are a lottery team with hasek in his prime

hutton stopped 36 of 39

if he stopped 38 of 39 we still lose because we can't score a goal

- homiedclown

36 ÷ 39 = .923.

We don’t normally give up this many shots

Holding teams to 1 or 2 LESS goals per game (here n there) would give us a better chance to win those games-
especially with a struggling offense

Wonder what’s the longest a goalie has had a shut out against the Sabres? Maybe a new record to break for Hart?
- Gr8daygo

Elliott played today.. a backup shut out the Sabres. Tbf tho, he is a pretty good backup

Only solution is promote seth Appert and its cheap.

I had to Google who that was. I have no idea who he is, so I obviously didn't know he was coaching the Amerks.

Good to know, I guess ?

I think the team looks back at him and the game against NJ that shoulda been a W and says (frank) it we don’t have a chance. That’s what they played like anyways.

we are deep in bottom half in shots allowed over 30 shots per game

so you want a goalie to give up 1.5 gaa on this crappy team

that's like saying the 32 year old single mom working the 7-11, living with her mom in a lockport trailer and is pretty blah looking is going to become jennifer lawrence with a little make up

Jennifer Lawrence isn’t very attractive

And i didn’t say EVERY GAME
I said “here n there”
Actually reading the words i type helps dude

I’ve never said it’s all Hutton’s fault
But a better goalie would HELP
And that’s just not arguable

I think you previous stance was more accurate...need Hutton to be more consistent.
Today was Not on him.

Like I said yesterday, with Hutton going forward they will need to post 3GF to have a chance at winning.

We are definitely starting to reach here. If that were true I would never want to be a fan of any pro team. Seriously would they really think like that making the coin they bring home.

He’s obviously shown he can have good games here n there
But when he’s horrible- and that’s MUCH too often- it just takes away any chance we have to win

Was today on him? No, not just him
But that 2nd goal was pretty soft
We didn’t score today, so it didn’t matter
But there are games where we do score 2 or 3 goals
And on those games that 1 bad goal can often be the difference

Maybe this year is shot already?
And if that’s the case, we’ll likely see some big time changes in the offseason (again)

I would just like to see what this team could look like with an improved goaltending situation
That would at least help us out moving forward no matter what direction we decide to go
