Circumstances.

Picking some random guy with 4 professional and 0 nhl games and healthy scratching a veteran that the coach brought in is:

Ridiculous.

Go luck with the crow.

And to continue to not let anyone "get away" with an opinion.... more ridiculous

I'm good, hope you are. 🤝

- Boss34

Naw, it’s not letting you not get away with your opinion. It’s not letting you contradict yourself. KO and Irwin are the same, veteran guys who no longer have it.

If this season is about keeping Eichel when Irwin plays should be bottom pairing minutes. That’s been my whole point. If you don’t like my view fine. Hand shake emoji

Do the potential gms have a choice in your senario?
Can they say no to Buffalo?

Or

When terry calls them. They have to say yes?
Like a dictatorship?

Curious? 🤔

Well at the time. “Money was no object for the Buffalo Sabres”. If you have to over pay to to show your gm or president that you’re actually serious about staying on the yacht and not interfering in the hockey operations, well then that’s what you do.

Maybe if you don’t act like you’ve won multiple cups while discussing an opportunity with your club to a respected hockey guy, maybe you have the help you need.

Maybe you could attract a real coach (if that is indeed the issue) if you had an actual management structure that included a president, gm and coach.

You call Gillis and ask what he wants to come in and fix it. You write the check and go sit on the yacht. If the Mrs wants to play game day experience, beat nacho vendors over the head for a better deal on cheese and develop the 20 square blocks around the arena, I could care less. You let an experienced, successful, hockey mind do hockey things at the top. Again, look at Pittsburgh. Mario and Ron didn’t think they knew better. They knew they needed a president and gm to navigate that team moving forward. They went and hired a successful, experienced president who brought in his gm...

I was thinking about this. If there are only 1,700 people there, someone could yell "You guys SUCK" and everyone would hear it.

Now I don't advocate for this kind of behavior, but it would be understandably hilarious

yzerman was the undisputed GM king in tampa. does he have some talent for teambuilding that nobody else does? will he do it again in detroit?

or did all of the draftpicks hit and he had no state taxes for sweet deals to keep most of them

the world may never know

yzerman had stamkos and hedman already there when he got there. yes,he did draft kucherov, vasilevsky.

his starting point with the detroit roster is much worse then it was when he started in tampa..

yea im just trying to portray my twisted view on GMs

takes an unbelievable amount of luck to build a good team. they usually only get one shot to build a winner within 3-4 years with a bunch of the previous GM's draft picks and when it doesnt come to fruition sayonara

Eichel has been here 6 years and for 6 years we have done nothing. We signed Hall and Skinner to play with Eichel and neither do. I'll say it again, 6 years now with Eichel and we have done nothing.

it bugged the shiot out of me for a little while, but i'm over it...

over it because i'm interested in seeing how this all works out...ralph's really hanging his hat on this move...it's ballsy and something he considers necessary...looking back on the teams we've seen waltz their way through the season and wuss out when it comes to pressure, i'm starting to think it might be necessary as well

- Michael Pachla

Good post.
The hope that maybe Krueger is right and it will set the tone for improved play from the players is the only reason I haven't gone full Beady rant on Ralph.

Then I consider
A) the rather significant and remarkable deterioration in play by
-Eichel
-Hall
-Montour
-Joker
B) the lack of growth in
-Olo
-Dahlin

and I'm left feeling that Ralph is THE problem.
